i hassle people who use (what strike me as suspicious) marketing stats, but as soon as the numbers served my interests, i was willing to put aside my skepticism.
that kind of research is always creepy, but for obvious reasons soooooo much more creepy when its subjects are "girls", i.e. from their research page:
"Why do I need Custom Research?
Spy Cam – I want to watch the girls interact with my product, hear their comments, see their behaviors.
Classroom Discussion - I want to have experts on site to lead interactive sessions with the girls.
Hangout - My client wants to participate with the girls on site. "
It could just be the months I spent as a research assistant on a pornography project, but there is something extremely icky-sounding about this, isn't there?
Well, they are trying to use girls to sell girl eyeballs, as they say in the trade (I think). It does seem icky to use and sell children so obviously as children.
Now tell us about this pornography project.
And that's a neat link to inknoise on your site. Too bad it's a week after I changed the site to CSS.
the porn project is called Understanding Pornography in Australia - a very big Australian Research Council funded university research project. It has several "branches" at different universities, including an online consumer survey. I was one of three people employed to analyse the content of mainstream porn videos as part of the University of Queensland part of the project.
And never mind, I'm sure you'll feel the urge to radically change your layout at some point... ;)
And you know who discovered it? GIRL SCIENTISTS!

seriously though, who the hell *is* the Girls Intelligence Agency? their idea of research creeps me right out.
now i have no other reason to believe their statement is false, but i am certain it is less than true ;) but probable. definitely probable.

That, if you'll pardon my saying so, sounds like one of the most depressing jobs on earth. But not not interesting!
And you're right, I have a pretty much constant urge to redesign the site, which I've managed to resist pretty well...so far...
