Yeah, I was going to make fun of him too. And his name begins with 'Schwartz'. What are the odds there isn't an 'I'm votin' fer Schwartz-iz-face robot from the future guy' demographic worth more than 10 lousy votes.
But you see, John, George is "Schwartz" with a "t" and Arnold is "Scharz" without, so it was clear to the good voters of California which was which.
Actually, I wonder if the ten votes reflect a backlash against someone presumed to be trading on his name. In which case George may be the victim here. So I feel bad. Still, ten votes?
10 votes is an error by the Chronicle, which can't be counted on to get it right, especially in baseball season.
Schwartzman actually got about 10,000 votes, not 10. As I explained to Eugene Volokh, he was a beneficiary of people being sloppy with their ballot, along with John Christopher Burton (immediately above Bustamante) and Bob McClain (above Tom McClintock). Assuming all their votes were intended for the "big 3", the error rate was less than 0.3%. We're smarter than those retirees in Florida.
Only if by California Coast you mean the Bay Area. Looking closely at the map, the areas that drastically different from the rest of the state are those in the Bay Area (Marin / Southern Peninsula counties and one in the East Bay).
In most of the other counties voting against the recall, you see more even split (51% - 58% against).
And, more importantly, the Southern California Coast is basically all pro-recall.
Is the Bay Area really this out of touch with the rest of the State?
That's a very good question. It is amazing, isn't it, that in a state that's considered so far to the left of the nation, an entire metropolis can be so far to the left of the state?
well, that metropolis gives the state its lefty reputation. I'd be willing to bet that if they broke down LA county smaller, you'd see some areas that voted like the Bay Area, and others which voted heavily to the right.

Thanks for the clarification. Too bad there's no one to pick on.
