"Now that I'm back to blogging, I just can't stop myself. Two posts in as many days!"

Careful, there! If you run with this thing, you could put someone's eye out, you know.

I think the strip is a rerun from last year focused more on Joanie's age and retirement issues than Bush policies.

It's from June ~2002, when that statement would have been accurate. Cartoonists take winter vacation, too.

Has Unf's ass been fact-checked? Or should Slate think to mention that a strip as topical as Doonesbury was written one year ago?

Slate calls it "Today's Doonesbury Flashback Strip", so you can't really blame them.

Okay, hang on a second. There is a "flashback" link at the bottom of that page, but that leads to strips 5, 10, 15, etc. years ago on this date. The strip shown is supposed to be current.

Unf, I'm afraid to click on the link, now. Does Doonesbury have any pictures of dead cats?

Yes, How dare Gary Trudeau take a vacation during the holidays and rerun a strip from a year ago when the stock market *was* down.

Unf writes: "Okay, hang on a second. There is a "flashback" link at the bottom of that page, but that leads to strips 5, 10, 15, etc. years ago on this date. The strip shown is supposed to be current."

But on the *front* Slate page, the Doonsbury link is titled "Today's Doonesbury Flashback Strip".
