The question is, what will Microsoft do with this?
Cf., IBM hold the patent on the cursor, fercryinoutloud. My understanding is that IBM have placed at least that bit of craziness in a pool which is usable by anybody.
Query for anybody: this may not be quite right; part of my brain niggles that IBM have made the pool open to any company which puts some quite large amount of its own stuff into the same pool. Anybody know anything?
Of course it goes without saying, or maybe we should all be saying louder, software patents are in grievous need of a huge overhaul -- unless they're in need of a total collapse of some kind.
