Nice. We agree, I think, that (a) Ms Ryan is hot; (b) Jack Ryan is horrid; (c) Obama is rokken. What's sad about this whole situation is that I can't enjoy unmitigated glee at Ryan's (presumed) political demise because the sex-club thing itself shouldn't be instant death (at least as far as I know). So the guy's into some weird stuff, and he's a bit of a jerk in trying to convince his (hot) wife to go along with it. Having sex in front of other people isn't my thing, but if it's your thing I'll just do my best to ignore it. As long as it's not so much worse than this, he's just like the hundreds of people who write to Dan Savage.
I haven't followed his side of the campaign at all-- is he a family-values type? Is there still more delicious hypocrisy?
He is "family values" though in a pretty generically Republican way--though I might have missed something shocking.
Maybe if all sitting politicians revealed their peccadilloes on the same day, we could have a week of shock and finally put this sex scandal stuff away.
Normally I would say this stuff is all irrelevant, but after Ryan had a paid staffer following Obama everywhere (including the bathroom) with a camera, I'd say he has waived his privacy rights and deserves what's coming to him. Something about swords...
I think we can all agree: it couldn't happen to a bigger doofus. A few searches for Justin Warfel online reveal that (a) Kos's comments thread contained his personal contact information and (b) Ryan stopped the experiment after 10 days (I hope because of the negative publicity). I wonder what Warfel's inbox looked like...
I don't know if anyone's mentioned this, or perhaps it's too obvious to point out, but this scandal is gaining the traction it's getting because it's not just a political story, but an entertainment one as well (& perhaps more importantly since it's getting more coverage via the "infotainment" media & supermarket tabloids).
If Ryan was getting his freak on with a non-famous trophy wife, I doubt it would be as big a deal. But we're talkin' Jeri-Freakin'-Ryan here! Ryan's totally lost the powerful Star Trek Fanboy vote, not to mention the all important Bi-Mon-Sci-Fi-Con voter bloc. Oh yeah, & the 10 people that watch "Boston Public"... eh, they were probably democrats anyway...
