Ogged's the one with the Wonkette fixation, which is actually just a manifestation of his U of Chicago fixation in a form he finds more acceptable. (The fact that he frequently mentions Wonkette's "maroon"-ness offhandedly is his way of reassuring himself that it is precisely not the chief reason for his interest in her. If I can be so cavalier about it, so I postulate his reasoning to run, then it must be inessential, a merely contingent, though admittedly pleasing, factor of the attraction. In fact, if she had not gone to the UofC, he would have no interest in her, for she serves as the outlet of his Chicago-related complexes. That's also why he keeps Unf around.)
Do I have to drag my ass back here for this? Note my comment here, in response to Fontana accusing me of having Wonkette issues:
I think you're probably right. My relationship with Wonkette, if I may coin and abuse a phrase from our dear old discipline, is clinamenitic. I was this close to being a Maroon myself, and at a time that would have overlapped with Wonkette's. I can't help but think we would have known each other, and probably been friends. But I swerved.
Clear enough?
What's surprising to me is that when we link to female bloggers, we're accused of being fanboys and having issues, but there have been stretches when I've linked to Kevin Drum every other post for a week, and no one suggested that I wanted to sleep with him.
On further reflection, this is probably a clear-cut case of projection.
BUT to save myself somewhat -- I must say that your links to Kevin Drumm are not accompanied by raving about her appearance. (For instance, Belle has been described as "all sultry and shit," and homoerotic pictures of Wonkette have appeared here -- something that cannot be said of Kevin Drumm.) So it's not just the linking that makes me think you have a crush on the two ladies in question.
Does Kevin Drumm know this conversation is going on? Linking to a discussion of a potential three-way between himself, Belle, and Wonkette seems to be right up his alley.
First Wonkette, now Belle -- it's like you guys are just cycling through your fanboyish crushes on prominent female bloggers.

The Hon. Mr. Labs' belletrism is unrelated.

No matter how many times you guys link to me, I won't sleep with any of you without seeing a picture first.

Wasn't Belle described as "sultry" in a post addressing something you had written?
I grant that I've never posted homoerotic pictures of Kevin Drum.

I think the solution is obviously for me to hook up with Wonkette the next time I'm home in DC.

I think everyone could accept that.

I'm sure John would be, at worst, slightly ambivalent.

Yeah, and you should invite Kevin Drum.

Adam: Kevin Drumm is a chicago-area noisy improv guy. The guy you're thinking of is Kevin Drum. </pedant>

What, you read minds now? Drumm is much better looking (and much more open to "experimentation") than Drum any day of the week.

ok, I guess I should have said "talking about".
