I've already admitted it, but I may as well go into some more detail. I'm about to graduate college and have less facial hair than Shaggy. If I never shaved, you couldn't even tell unless you were close to me. But my dad had a full beard while I was growing up, so I'm guessing it will come in eventually. It bothered me in high school when everyone else started shaving, but I haven't worried about it for awhile now. Especially as I've had the opportunity to meet other beardless freaks.
The multi-colored magnificence of my facial hair has yielded to a patchwork of blond and grey. The red and auburn have almost completely departed. None of this ever stopped me from having a Nanook of the North phase in my early 20's. Actually slightly embarrassing in retrospect.
I've had some sort of facial hair since I was about 16. My face is just too round and soft to be allowed to remain clean-shaven for any length of time. The current configuration is a moustacheless goatee and sideburns. I've only been clean-shaven at various friends' weddings at the request of the bride.
Larry B reminds me of a friend of mine who grew a full beard while working at a national park in Alaska. When he came home his father asked, "Is that your face or did you swallow a muskrat?"
He's clean shaven now.
I, on the other hand, have sported a van dyke off and on since the late 80's. The commenter under Levy & Fox's picture who said that is so '93 hit the nail on the head. I think our fashion sense freezes at some point as young adults. I - and my cohort - are the equivalent of those corduroy jacket with elbow patches professors of the 70's.
I think I could grow a Fu Manchu if I really, really had to. I've never let it go longer than 3mm or so.

And yet, aside from some lazy stubble, I've never had facial hair.

Oh, I get the mysterious blonde and red streaks, too, but that cures itself as you get older: they seem to be the first to turn gray.

I can't look like a bearded pinko, not matter how hard I try.
