So have there been no comments thus far because no one can bear to watch the show?
I find it hysterically funny, and yet I can't watch more than about two minutes of it at a shot. It's absolutely unbearable; I have a physical reaction to it every time, and have to change the channel. I'm not sure the squirm factor is all about the embarrassment I feel for those being suckered, though; there's something about the over-the-topness of the humor itself that 's like nails on a chalkboard, after a minute or so.
Except for cock-jokes, I never know what people are going to comment about. But I'm the same way with Ali G; just a few nights ago, I tried to watch and managed about three minutes, before I was literally averting my eyes. And I think it's hilarious. But I find that I can watch if someone else is watching with me. Then I can offload the discomfort.
Have you seen the episode where he goes to open mic night at some cowboy bar in the southwest as Borat to sing a song about the troubles in the native Kazakhstan? The chorus ends up including: "Throw the Jew down the well."
Watching the crowd reaction was amazing. Funnier than funny.

I've had the same experience - it's outrageous but unpleasant to watch. As far as this,
Then I can offload the discomfort.
How does that work? It distracts you?
