I don't want to be all purist and shit, but if that song is the one that starts "No home no home the orphan girl cried" or some such, it's a lot older than GW. Buell Kazee does a great version on his June Appal LP.
IRL, I may well be the girliest apparently-straight man on the planet. And you're right, it was the use of "thrilling"; tell me that doesn't sound a bit like a sentence Madeline Bassett (of Wodehouse fame) would write. And yes, I would like the GG review, Bob.
Bob, there's a clip of the song available on the website, so I did listen. I'm not such a fan of bowed instruments in bluegrass, so the cello bothers me--but I can see that it's good, and why you like it. You're still a fairy for saying "thrilling" though.

Different song.

They do an uptempo cover of GW's "Orphan Girl," and it's thrilling.
So, ogged, you already had a BwO; has Alameida been added for more equitable gender representation?
(I kid b/c I love).

I was thinking of posting a review of the new season so-far of Gilmore Girls, but now see if I even bother.

So it is. Well, the BK song is still killer.
Is liking GW girly? I would've thought it was more of a music-geek thing. I mean, she got a big publicity boost from a Coen Bros. soundtrack.

I think finding a particular bluegrass song "thrilling" is the crime. But only Tim, master and keeper of all things manly, can tell us for sure.

Listen before you judge, O. Makes my heart race.

Me and Tim, peas in a pod.

"heart race" = super-manly.
Not that manly is good, necessarily.

"updated bluegrass": contradiction in terms.
