Seconded.

I've seen my share of this crap, but most of it second hand. I just want to say that there is probably a VERY good chance that he really does not remember the crap.

And, for what it's worth coming from a stranger on the internet, I'm truly sorry this had to happen to you.

The only Edmund I have known (or, at least, the only one who went publicly by the name) was this scary, Manson-looking fellow that was taking classes at Carolina while I was an undergrad. He was at least 20 years older than most of us, tall and thin with a shaved head and a long, pointy, silver beard. Very, very creepy guy who would come to poetry readings and was, indeed, a pretty talented poet.

Turns out he was so much older than the rest of us because he had spent a considerable amount of time in prison for murdering his girlfriend and his friend when he found them in bed together. Or at least, that was the story I got and it certainly seemed believable. After a few years, he disappeared from campus and an old friend who was at the time a reporter in Prague, of all places, ran across him covering the courts there. He was being tried for stabbing somebody in the chest. I don't know what the outcome of the Czech trial was.

So yeah, Edmunds. I hear ya.

I guess all the anger burnt up

Good for you. That puts you well ahead of most folks I know with similar stories.

Ditto the apostropher: hat's off on your happy marriage and beautiful family--this stuff is no joke and you've done good.

Also, funny "I was molested" posts are da bomb. Keep 'em comin'!

Last, the molester I knew (molested a classmate, tried to "hypnotize" me) was named Tim.

Dittoes to ogged. Congratulations on living through this, and emerging as such a cool person.

Wow. Don't know if I'm more impressed by the story, or the way it's told. The latter I think. Shitty stepdad stories are probably fairly common. The maturity to actually write about them, and the skill, not so much.

That you got throught this and over this is impressive; you've got my respect.

Whew. Given how warmly you write of your family gatherings I never would have guessed. Glad you made it through whole, wise and together.

I think I've got lesser skeletons, but bigger scars.
