The discussion above about what Allofmp3.com is allowed to do with international distribution rights assumes the site actually owns those rights. It doesn't—at least not according to the recording industry. The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry is the worldwide organization of recording companies, and it claims that Allofmp3.com has not been licensed to distribute its members' "repertoire" in Russia or anywhere else. While Allofmp3.com claims it owns distribution rights from the Russian Multimedia and Internet Society, the record companies say, "Nyet."
My comment may have been based on the extensive analysis found here, though I think there was a later message in that group specifically dealing with allofmp3.
Everyone's suspicious of the Russians. Just because it's harder to find an authentic, unpirated CD in the ex-Soviet Union than it is to find a teenage celebrity wtihout a boobjob.....
AllofMP3.com may not be fufilling their corporate duties to compensate rights holders, or they may be taking advantage of a loophole in Russian law (which is what we saw reported) -- I can't prove either...
However, I am not sure you have much to worry about if you use PayPal to fund your account there with ~$20 (for which you download about 100 tracks...)
Ogged, why would you assume this was some sort of scam? Allofmp3.com's CEO, Ms. Miryam Abacha, assures me that everything is on the up and up.

They do have the rights to distribute them.

That's why God made single-transaction credit card numbers.

Which I've never heard of!
Do they ask for no other information?
