Alameida, I read that at the start of my day. And even though the sun is shining here for the first time in what seems like weeks, you've got me feeling just as gloomy as I felt yesterday.
Now I'll never come up with any good porn names for the "I Suspect Not" thread.
(Gee, I get to play 'Voice from the Black Hole of Calcutta'.)
I can't manage to even get upset, as I am already low-level upset about it all the time. No surprises, of course, they're doing shit like that, they set it up as doctrine in 2001. (And, I intuited it (no better phrasing) since they hinted at it rather broadly and a few non-torture pictures got out.)
No surprises at all.
What strikes me is that the froze him to death accidently. If you have to go, that's one of the least unpleasant ways. (Really. Almost went that way myself, once.)
What bugs me is the deaths we're not hearing about (they are out there, trust me on this one), where X, Y, & Z got overamped and beat some guy to death. Or beat some guy and then he died, real slow, from internal hemorrhaging or a damaged liver or an exploded kidney, or went septic from some unhealed wound or something. Wet brain, brain damage and slow skull bleed. Etc.
Not such nice ways to go. Particularly if you've been ass-raped and have a number of broken bones.
Those will be classified. They're just eventually letting you know about the not-so-bad ones.
The real chilly part is when they bring that shit back over here.

What's worse is that he was associated with someone who was associated with someone who was associated with Kevin Bacon.

So it's not so bad unless they do it to Americans?

Yeah, I gotta go along with John. Though of course as ash is saying, you know every story like this we hear is the tip of the iceberg.
This kind of shit is why I'm not really reading the news much right now. I can only handle feeling sick dread so much.

I can't wait for our robot army to start kicking some ass. Then wars will never become unpopular on the mainland.

"He was probably associated with people who were associated with al Qaeda," one U.S. government official said.
There's probably a bunch of people in the U.S. govt itself who would qualify under this rigorous standard.

You know, in theory, "getting tough" sounds so good.
