Allow me to express discomfort at citing anonymous personal attacks on people, especially non-public figures? The Weddings blog all in good fun, but someone claiming to have personal knowledge of the situation saying "I feel sorry for Gwen" isn't.
The stretching the truth comment reminded me of a local situation. Peon local actor had article in the local paper stating he played "King Lear" at bigtime theatre. Wow.
I was skeptical and did some digging. It turns out he did not play the role of King Lear, he played in the production of King Lear where he had a non-speaking role. He carried a spear.
It is amazing what a big difference there is between "I played in King Lear" and "I played King Lear." Maybe it was an honest mistake.
The comment a few down from that has the excellent line.

Well, yeah, if you find "might be by his neighbor's dog" inadequate, discomfort is the proper reaction.

In the words of Jim Bouton - "Yeah, sure."
