Penetration?

Aha, yup, that's another. But football is even better for that, what with all its penetration into the backfield.

Football is ridiculous:
Tight End
Wide Receiver
Long Snapper
Penetration
Going Long
Deep Route
etc.

Well, those aren't quite the same, because while they're liable to being used as sexual terms, that's not their primary use.

Depending on context: "backdoor."

Backdoor isn't acceptable, it's too disturbing having to associate backdoor (sexual) with Pete Carril

When the announcers say "backdoor cut" it sounds okay. But they don't always phrase it that way (which is why I wrote "depending on context.")

I always thought 'dribble' was a funny term to use about grown adults.
Q: Do you always have to dribble before you score?
A: No, but it usually happens.

Well, I seem to recall lots of talk about players "palming" balls; that sounds kinda sexual.
Also, you hear in both football and basketball that somebody is "all over" somebody else.
