I'm the same way, sometimes the satisfaction of minor domestic achievements is a great way to release stress
(other times, of course, I don't even want to think about the dishes in the sink).
FWIW, the post about noticing things was way more interesting than this one. There's not much to say other than may you spend less time at work next week than you did this week.
But a chocolate covered manhole cover is not necessarily a manhole cover made out of chocolate. In the case of the latter one might fall through on warm days; in the case of the former one would have to worry more about slipping than about falling into the sewers.
Yeah, I tried getting the standpipe outside of an office I was working at to comment, but it lacked the je ne sais quois of our Bridgeplate. It couldn't even write a decent couplet.
What a difference a "c" makes.

What a great thread that was you linked to.
I remember before kids when chores felt like a choice. They were more enjoyable then. And I did them a lot less. ;-)

that was a lovely thread, yes. I never ever desire to do chores, and so I live like a dirty college student. No good for unexpected guests.
I miss Standpipe.

What can you say about chocolate covered manhole covers?
Posted by NickS | Link to this comment | 08-28-05 1:04 PM
what can't you say?
on a hot day, a fellow is liable to fall through if he puts too much weight onto one. Also: they are sure to attract pigeons and small furry mammals.

text, I think that, due to an unfortunate typo, you misunderstood NickS.
He was talking about hole covers for chocolate covered men.
Manhole covers made of chocolate would just be ridiculous, not to mention a hazard to dogs.

do not my observations apply to both situations?

Either way you'd still end up covered in brown stuff, though.
Not that there's anything wrong with that . . .
