Which one? King or Kubrick?

The Kubrick movie. You can watch it, mike, but it won't be nearly as funny to you.

I own the King movie on DVD, but I've never watched the Kubrick one all the way through.

The Kubrick one is better.

Hopefully this isn't one of those Kirk/Picard issues, I don't want to start a feud.

Even besides the silly feel-good ending of the King version? (I can't decide which is worse. The ending of King's The Shining or of the last third of Spielberg's AI.)

The inexplicable Robin Williams voiceover really threw me there. I kept thinking it was some sort of Bicentennial Man reference, which would have made no sense. Aside from the whole robot thing.

And I think my preference has a lot to do with Jack Nicholson. Though the King version is more faithful to the book.

one of those Kirk/Picard issues

Can there even be a question here? Kirk.

This trailer is funny too.

*coughs*PICARD*coughs*

The British accent gives him an automatic boost up, plus he's not crazy.

I never seen The Shining and I thought the trailer was pretty damn funny. If you don't know the plot, I guess you might not like. But doesn't everyone know the plottish?

You sound like the Ukranian guy from "Everything is Illuminated"

That was hilarious. It would be even better if someone seriously did this: made a thriller movie and advertised it like a family film.

Willy: [gasps] Boy...you read my thoughts! You've got the Shinning.

Bart: You mean "Shining".

Willy: [sotto voce] Shh! You want to get sued?
