I hadn't heard about this, google news gives a lot of hits for news sites quoting the father's denial that his actions were politically motivated, and a lot of blogs that doubt it, but I don't see any news sites providing the evidence leading the blogs to doubt it.
Except WorldNetDaily, but fuck them, they're neither a news site nor a blog, they're a disinformation site.
Well, are you objecting to the media not whipping us into a frenzy because of what one kid did? I presume the FBI is doing what it needs to be doing to follow up on the details, and I see no reason for a big scarefest via the cable news gods.
A bit like that woman who reported having been on a flight during a near terrorist attack. Nothing came of that, yet she's still written a book about it nonetheless.

I hadn't heard about this at all; shouldn't it have been at least reported that some kid blew himself up in a manner similar to suicide bombers?

I heard about this (pretty sure it was reported on cnn.com), it seemed to go away rather quickly, however.

No need for a scarefest, but mentioning it might not be a bad idea (if only to prevent a scarefest.)

I heard about it, but I think from right wing bloggers.
Right wing sites, however, are rather alarmed.
Of course. It's their bread and butter.

FBI and actual investigators vs. rightwing blogs? If I've ever liked any odds, I like these.

A bit, except this kid actually blew himself up, right?

Well, yeah, there's that. But the evidentiary standard being applied by a few rightwing bloggers seems the same.
