Somehow, that made me wonder: Wouldn't you think there would be a decent market for a multiplayer Frogger-like video game in which you could choose to be a frog or a driver?
I have no knowledge of anything in the video-game market that happened after the advent of the Atari 5200. You can be one of the guys getting run over in GTA? If that's true, and there is still a a sex-mod for the game, is there really any doubt that GTA is a national resource that should be available to all Americans? Shouldn't the Dems explicitly adopt this position before the Republicans do?
No multiplayer mode, I was just saying there are (separate) games where you could be either the frog (Frogger) or the driver (GTA). Not at the same time though.
I did play a game that involved storming a fortified beach; in multiplayer mode, one person was the invader and one was the defender. Rather fun, actually. The characters were cats and mice.
Matt F misled me. The youth of today have no sense of decency at all. OTOH, a market awaits for some lucky creator. Wolfson, you're wasting all that time at grad school. Can't you whip something up?
Totally OT: Were I a woman, I would have Mark Schmitt's baby. So smart, so well-informed, so sane.
You know what'll happen when ogged gets over his hump slump? This blog will start sliding headlong into mediocrity. Look at what happened to Sarah McLachlan's music post-nuptials. I have seen the future in all its mellow greatest-hits, live-album decline. Chastity is the beacon of quality!
Toast is also notable for its partisan affiliation. I considered putting an apostrophe in "its" to annoy Ben, but the problem is that I make too many accidental errors for my faux (because intentional) errors to be appreciated.
729 is a nice number because it's 3**6, and 1000 less than the smallest number expressible as the sum of the cubes of two positive numbers two different ways.
I did that once, except I came so terrifyingly close to hitting the pedestrian that I actually sideswiped her shoulder bag and broke the strap on it. She was so distraught, in fact, that she refused my offers to replace the bag, or even give her my name or phone number. Which was probably lucky for me.
Slept in, had breakfast (toast). Was good. What is everyone else doing today?
This morning I did one of my favorite things - entertained over a thousand second-graders by doing a little stage magic. They LOVE the fire in the hand!
They are actually the best audience for this little show (The Nutcracker). Considering that I didn't even used to like kids I think I must be softening up in my old age.
I came around a corner just now,
I think I've got your problem figured out -- the whole blogging while driving thing? Not so much a good idea.

LB, I put stuff like that in for the newbies to pick up and make themselves feel at home; I expect the old-timers to be a little more industrious.

Indeed. Next time, first try, no do-overs.

Grand Theft Auto?
Also, Carmageddon, a game I used to play back in middle school. Fun times.
Posted by Matt F | Link to this comment | 12- 2-05 9:11 AM
Perhaps a version of Grand Theft Auto with the option of playing an armed pedestrian?

And I'll just bet he wasn't grateful either.

And now I understand the lyrics to "Jacksonville," on this Sufjan Stevens album you may have heard I like:
"I'm not afraid of the black man running
He's got it right, he's got a better [extra?] life coming...
I'm not afraid to get it right
I turn around and give it one more try [hitting reset, obviously]...
Andrew Jackson! All I'm asking
Show us the [steering] wheel and give us the wine"
It's about the video game, clearly.

Is that right? I thought the index of refraction was purely a function of the material involved.

I believe the answer is "breakup sex".
