And if you feel like watching and listening to the Senator's remarks wouldn't be a pleasant activity this weekend, Raw Story has a transcript. I'm at a loss as to why no "brutalized religious virgin" exception is in the law.
He's from the Black Hills, which aren't especiially exciting except that there's nothing else whatever in a radius of about 200-300 miles. So it's a tourist destination, and last time I went through it had a sort of a skanky vibe.
I spent a few days there in '85, during a trip out West, because my wife was having trouble with her contact lenses. Misdiagnosed, in Rapid City, btw. At the end of July there was a huge biker convention, a sort of rendezvous from all over the country. Wall, the famous tourist trap, was part of the same scene. I can see an antique car museum fitting right into that, and probably making the year's profits on summer visitors to that and to Mt Rushmore. I would say skanky, yes.
The whole raped religious virgin thing is despicable, but not very surprising. The "sodomized" bit, however, is just extra-weird. Abortion is murder! Unless you had to take it up the butt, too. Then not so much.

I feel a little better about my life-long prejudice against owners of antique car museums now.

Dude, the Black Hills are great--the whole area is beautiful, in a really austere windswept sorta way.
The people, now, are assholes. There's a reason I moved out of state as soon as I could and never looked back.

The black hills are gorgeous, I agree.
I don't plan on seeing 'em any time soon, though.

Well, come on. Carrying a baby inside your small intestine is just . . . gross.

That's why you tie them up in condoms before you swallow them, B. It's gross, but you gotta get 'em across the border somehow.

Tia:
Well, I think you said you expected that to happen eventually.

For the record: 11 makes sense, though I perhaps should have put it in a different thread.
