Hooray! All apostrophes, commas, and quotation marks in this post come up as a black diamond with a question mark in the interior for me.

Commas? Really? I'm just getting it for apostrophes, quotes and dashes. Switching the encoding to "Western" will fix it, by the way.

I'm mistaken.

Now the black diamond is gone, but the question marks have grown FULL SIZE.

They were black diamonds for me before.
I vote that all [REDACTED]s be replaced with black-diamond question marks?

Everything's fine for me.
But because [redacted]s are necessary, I recommend that they be replaced with boxes.

Are the people with encoding problems all on Macs?

Never mind, I see them, too. I think it has to do with LB writing her posts in a MS program and then copying them into MT. They frequently contain smart quotes (curly quotes). The new setup must not like them.

I think that's it, since when I switch the encoding the apostrophes and quotes show up curly.

When I posted my above comment, I received a long 'internal error' warning message, and I assumed my comment didn't post, but it did!

I believe that 'internal error' messages generally come when the page tries to reload after registering the comment.

For instance, I just got a 500 error, but the comment still posted.
