After I posted that, I just went ahead and ignored the message and used the forum. Every time I clicked on a link, it said it was blocking a trojan, though. Weird.
I have never had the problem you describe with MT's comment forums. Just another data point. Of course, finding something useful once you get there is another matter.
6 is an interesting point, actually. It wouldn't surprise me terribly if sqlite had bad performance with extremely long tables. I'm not an MT user, so I don't know what the database looks like, but does the comments table have a good index on entry_id?
You two aren't seriously accusing Emerson and Tripp of cheating on Unfogged by commenting elsewhere, are you? Because that is, to put it mildly, freaking insane.
You don't seriously believe that I would make an accusation of that gravity without carefully weighing my words, do you? (3.423 oz, if you're interested.)
Pretty weather? So that's where everyone's been. None of that 'round here.

Re: Also.
That's seriously weird. I doubt it's a common problem.
Have someone else do it. ?

I was just able to access the forums without incident. Perhaps the problem is with your anti-virus?

And, as I said, now I'm going to have to reboot. 'Night all.

Umm...WTF? I'd been assuming he had frozen to death on an ice floe, which seemed a reasonable excuse for not commenting.

How did you introduce a typo into LB's comment?
Posted by slolernr | Link to this comment | 05-22-06 11:32 AM
(Hiding head in shame).
S/he didn't. The typo was there originally, and I used my posterly powers to edit it out when I noticed it. I do that a lot -- I'm a rotten typist.
Posted by LizardBreath | Link to this comment | 05-22-06 11:36 AM
A mantra for you to repeat when you notice a posted typo, in order to resist the temptation of editing it out: "Be like Yglesias".

Have you no shamelessness, LB? I was going to seriously accuse you of putting typos in my comments, but now my plan is riuned, runed, rooined.

Personally, I've been busy programming a dynamic compression plugin (to add more magic) and getting ready to move across the state.
