Oh, and I forgot to mention that I can't seem to find to save a link right off the page and had to e-mail myself, which is a mild but bearable annoyance.
Indeed, I did mention a Boston meetup. Tuesday, 5:30PM, Lord Hobo. Gets crowded, so we're going to try and get there on time.
I'm sad to learn I was apparently the only Boston commenter who wasn't invited to the meetup.
4: Why don't you write a sad song about it and share?
Further, I thought you moved to the South or something. Am I confusing commenters?
7: I'm now envisioning Brock doing that look-in-the-mirror fist-pump "Yes!" gesture that he mentioned a while back.
KR is the one who wasn't invited. That's because he is busy this time of the year.
moved to the South
As I recall, this was discussed only for rather northern values of "South".
['No, really, I'm not much of a Southerner.']
Also, Brock should check his e-mail more often.
Also on the song generator: I think "very" is my favorite. Earlier today Blume was plugging in actual song lyrics, which can be really hilarious if one of the words is from the actual song. Try, e.g. the first couple lines of Stairway to Heaven.
The way it breaks up some words is pretty annoying. Seriously, they don't have "she's" and they have to do "she" and "s" instead? Or does it just not recognize apostrophes?
I want to hold your hand works well as described in 12.
How long until this is shut down for copyright infringement?
7: Sure, now I'm invited. But I couldn't possibly show up, under the circumstances. I've got more self-respect than that.
I hear the restaurant serves a to-die-for moldy-asbestos-brined duck-fat soup.
I really like hyphens tonight. - - - !
If anyone needs a funny break-up line, here.
If I knew when I was going to be going through the Bay Area (or the Sacramento area), I'd suggest a meet-up. But I don't, and probably would only be passing through that day and not staying anyway.
eb, do you need a place to stay, or want to come by for dinner? If you're coming through, you should visit a little.
I'm likely to go through on a weekend, possibly in the afternoon. How much notice would you need?
Very little! I just sent my phone number to an old email address of yours. I don't know if that is still a good way to reach you.
Call when you get to Willows.
E-mail received. I've almost set on taking I-5, but I still haven't bought the chains.
19 shows an appalling lack of judgement.
I love the Chris Isaac I.
Thank FSM it's not the Whitney Houston "I(iIIIIiaiaiiiaiiiiiIII. . .)".
An Unfogged classic includes one of my favorite sung words ever, Shirley Bassey's "such."
Hey, I posted 19 in the other thread yesterday. What the?
I can't figure out how to link to a singing of my own, but I did notice that "are" and "gay" appear to come from the same song. And who the heck is singing that song?
The Chris Isaac "I" can get a little tiresome. Here's an alternate version.
34: We can call it the Chris Eyesaac "I".
Any more general Bay Area meetup plans?
I plugged in "Cats, cats will tear us apart again" and the "~part" was from Joy Division!
On second thought, maybe I will take 101 anyway. Thu-Fri-Sat aren't looking good weather-wise.
I'm serious, I want to know who's singing "are gay". Such a haunting voice.
Is there a way to get the url without having it email you the link?
Also, is there any way I could read the thread before asking questions?
41 confirms that I can now no longer hear the Chris Isaak "I" without cracking the fuck up. Also, the Temptations' "so" is pretty great.
I'm supposed to be writing a paper and studying for a final exam, so what do I do? Arrange a rendition of the final lines of "Annabel Lee", of course. It takes a bit of time to load, but it works.
I know no one's looking at this thread. However, if there were a meetup-type activity in the east bay on the afternoon of Saturday the 12th, I could probably be there for it.
Yes. I would need to leave by about 7 and probably wouldn't get there before noon, but I could do that regardless of which route I'm driving in from the north.
I might be in the east bay in the morning of saturday the 12th, but if I'm still there in the afternoon I'll probably be asleep.
(With apologies to the Central Valleyites, whose towns are on only one of the routes I could be taking.)
Works for me. We should probably get someone to put up a post about it, in case anyone else is interested.
On a similar note, if anyone is interested in a meetup at the Philadelphia train station at around 2:00 am on the 18th, let me know.
A meetup on Saturday afternoon in the East Bay looks like doable for me.
I'm interested in a Philadelphia train station meetup, but I won't be able to make it.

nosflow's going to be at a rave all night.
This same technology has/will be applied to sampling Obama's verbalizing.
It's surprisingly difficult to work around certain sounds, especially surrounding the 'r' and the 'v'. They actually have some of those sounds included in existing sounds, but haven't extracted them to make them available.
Anyway, on the potential meetup scheduling, I will be offline much of Thursday and Friday. But I guess all I really need to know is where we're meeting and where I can park my car.
Re: today's Boston meetup: I'm not coming, not because I hate you for not inviting me (even though I do), but because I'm coming down with something sickish and I don't want to infect you all (even though I hate you).
I should be there around 5:30, as sorta promised at some point previously.
Who was there? Anyone do anything dirty? (I mean other than Blume, obviously.)
I'm glad the drugs started kicking in. We'll be waiting to hear from you all for the next 23 hours.
66: In attendance was -- Sifu, Blume, mcmc, Nathan, BG, SP, Sifu's friend "Al," and assorted significant others. (Am I missing anyone?)
It was, as Sifu said, a perfectly lovely meetup. Although some of us drank too much and nearly threw up in Lord Hobo's urinal. IYKWIM.
"Some of us" consider a 32oz mason jar to be one beer.
Although some of us drank too much and nearly threw up in Lord Hobo's urinal.
Dude. That's totally sociopathic.
70 was uncalled for, of course, one of arthegall's most obviously sterling qualities being his willingness to drink as much as it takes to make a meetup really sing.
Pretty much right. My BF was there as was Nathan's SO.
Tweety and other Massholes, thoughts on Martha Coakley?
73: eh. I mean, she's a prosecutor, which sucks. They all suck. But she had it in the bag for so long that I can't rouse myself to be sad about what could have been.
On the other hand, she's a Democrat, so good for her on that front.
73-76: Ah, that was what I feared: without fanning the flames too much, that the Dems were continuing their quest to sew up the we're-excited-about-the-lesser-of-too-evils demographic. Which, as I think about it, describes me pretty well.
I guess the third beer actually did have alcohol in it.
So... Any further thoughts on a Bay Area meetup Saturday?
Buncha jerks, eb, them Bay Area snobs. Who needs 'em?
Bay Area meetup in Boston! Who's with me?
There's a bay there, too, right? Let's meet at every other bay in the world!
