I might, if distracted by a sneezing or coughing fit not change the channel instantly if it comes up by accident. It won't be more than an instant though.
Somewhat relatedly, who here has seen Exit Through the Gift Shop?
4: Documentary? Mockumentary? Hoax?
What makes you think it's your business? (Really, I think it was probably some combination of a documentary and a hoax, for what it's worth.)
It's worth $1, if it gets to Redbox.
Ari goes for the rare hocumentary option.
That's going to go away soon, and for good reason, but I think it should be said that "Faceplant" would make a good pseud.
Some of us mumble mumble mumble know some things about this mumble mumble mumble
11: If only there were some established convention of sharing information under deep cover. I blame the Executive Branch.
Ahalfordo will no doubt be able to tell me that I am entirely wrong, but I think the "Ha ha! Just kidding!" is bullshit (in both senses of the word, I guess). It's a weird time to admit that the whole thing is a joke -- after all the major reviews have come out saying essentially, this is likely a mean-spirited joke, but if it isn't, then it's an unfunny exploitation of someone's mental illness. I think they were trying to scramble to come up with something vaguely likable about their movie. He's no Andy Kaufman (who certainly never resorted to announcing it was all a gag when people decided he was a giant freak).
(And I don't necessarily buy that it was 100% joke anyway -- but rather something that needed to be done in order to ensure that Phoenix ever worked again after this ridiculousness, and "just kidding!" was the best they could do.)
Oh, hey, speaking of mockumentaries, has anyone here seen Fear of a Black Hat? It's been recommended by someone who usually makes pretty good movie suggestions, but it seems hard to locate. I'm wondering if it's really worth the effort to track down.
16: Pretty funny. If memory serves, it has a second half problem. Not as good as it could have been, but worth watching.
Fear of a Black Hat is worth watching for the main character's appearance on stage in a rock band singing a Local H song, which you get to hear in its album form. Actually wait, I'm thinking of The Great White Hype. And it's not really worth watching since that appears within the first 20 minutes.
16: I found it funny in parts... although it seemed a bit derivative and fairly amateurish. The humor is a bit broad and stupid, so you might get a kick out of it. If you want more of a taste it seems to be all on YouTube.
stupid, so you might get a kick out of it
I see what you did there, Stormcrow.
