There's a baby friendly beer garden type place right next to the Atlantic Ave. stop in Fort Greene. On the bad side I don't think it serves any drinks other than beer.

Sure, babies can't handle the hard stuff.
I'm not a big fan of beer. I was amused to see that its website ends in dsk
3: I love how totally uninviting the main photo is.
Indian Road Cafe on 218th is kid-friendly and has wine, beer, and cocktails.
[cricket noises]
The internet says there's a Dave and Buster's in Times Square. The idea of a meet-up there is...amusing to me.
6: I think it's in one of those hyperplex theaters on 42d.
Let's just set a time and see if we all find the same Schelling point.
5. At least an excuse to go see the Cloisters again. I've been meaning to do so for a couple years now.
3 In person it seems to be a pleasant enough place. Run by non Germans and located in a former German run hardware store that fell victim to gentrification. I've never really considered going because a) beer and b) lots of babies and toddlers around aren't a plus unless it's a necessary feature.
They're pretty decent babies. Stanley can vouch for them!
Kids love medieval tapestry!
I did. But I was a very lonely child. Thanks for dredging up sad memories, Sifu. [Sobs.]

I said "vouch" not "joust."

I uploaded some class videos to Youtube and now I can't find my original copy. What's the easiest way to download them back from Youtube? Googling leads me to a variety of software that claims to do the job. Do I need software, even if I'm the one who originally uploaded the video?

15: me too, but not as a toddler. I loved the cloisters when I went, but that was like early HS.

I thought you were some kind of atheist and here we find you're actually a nun?

True. It's possible that Bonsaisue and TJ have raised the politest children in the history of humankind. I didn't get beketchupped even once!
the politest children in the history of humankind
This might be an exaggeration. But they're unusually good in public. And unholy terrors at home.
Better than unholy terriers. Those things are pawssessed.
That made my cringe put out my cigarette because the precious children couldn't stand some secondhand smoke. Damn kids. Taking over all the beer gardens.
26: second "my" should be "its."
So what times/dates are good for people? I think someplace where we can combine park and kid-friendly cafe/bar would be a good idea.
Agree! Let me check our non-existent itinerary... oh, I can add that we're staying in Brooklyn.
Saturday afternoon isn't good for me, but otherwise I can almost certainly make it.
Okay, we're arriving tomorrow in the early afternoon, leaving Monday mid-morning. We don't have solid plans. What are good days for other people to do park/restaurant/cafe/beergarden stuff?
We don't have solid plans.
Only liquid plans? Gas? Plasma?
How about Sunday afternoon? The Fort Grrene beer garden that teraz was talking about?
Alternatively, this evening is going to be nice, but short notice for most.
I'm willing and able to do Sunday or Monday. Let's make this happen.
Sunday afternoon at the beer garden works for us!
So let's say 3? Or if another time is prefrable, someone speak up.
Great. Could a front-pager promote this?
My God, decision-making right before my eyes!
Sounds good. If it's not clear from the website, the place is at the corner of Hanson and Fulton, across the street from the Lafayette stop on the C, about a three minute walk from the Fulton stop on the G, and a similar distance from the Atlantic Ave. stop on all other lines. Anyone who gets disoriented should just find the big old skyscraper that until a year or so was the tallest building in Brooklyn. Its main entrance is on one end of Hanson. Walk to the other end and you're there.
I regret I will not make this meetup.
I am caught between two proposals, one involving my best friend, who is in town briefly this weekend and wants me to come out to New Jersey. I will be fickle until tomorrow.
come out to New Jersey
Someone in town tonight is throwing a Jersey Shore-themed party. I'm not sure what such an event entails, but I'm glad to have other plans.
I haven't seen it but my impression is that it means lots of booze, lots of drunken sex, lots of women in bikinis and guys in undersized tank tops all with heavy Jersey accents.
I am sorry to miss you guys today; gf and her dad have been bugging me for years to come out to NJ, and they're making sort of a big deal about the prospect of my doing so, so I'll go. Hug the little one from me!
TWO offspring, sorry! Little ones! Both of them! Show no preference!
I won't be making it -- thought I might, but I've got a brief to finish up.
Doesn't look like I'm going to be able to make the 2:30 train, and the next one isn't until 3:30, so I'm debating whether or not to come.
So, what happened? Who made a fool of him or herself?
Our kids spilled drinks more times than even I had expected, but I think they were only drinks of the nonalcoholic variety. It was great to meet more of you imaginary blog people in real life!
Well, the Jacobian's kids poured out aan ounce for those that couldn't be there today
They were very well-behaved kids, all things considered.
Thanks for coming out everyone, we had a fun time. It was a pleasure putting names and faces to other, more different names.
