Re: I will attack you with my neck!

PA's Supreme Court just make dubious moves to increase their own pay. They don't do anything interesting. Lazy bastards.

"In the context of this, I said, 'You are a total bitch,' " Prosser said. "I probably overreacted, but I think it was entirely . . . warranted. They (Abrahamson and Bradley) are masters at deliberately goading people into perhaps incautious statements. This is bullying and abuse of very, very long standing."

I see, so really the Justice who he put in a chokehold is the abuser because she also made him call her a bitch.

about how the Wisconsin Supreme Court has become a total clusterfuck.

The Republican Party has become a total clusterfuck.

The scary thing about right-wing lunacy is that it undermines important institutions, thus serving a key goal of right-wing lunacy. The self-reinforcing nature of Republican clusterfucks is in many ways the story of the last 30 years. It's a feedback loop.

Where does the race to the bottom stop? How far does the U.S. go before Americans are forced to acknowledge that we've hit bottom?

I heard part of a This American Life episode on Saturday that was about how neighbors are fighting neighbors in Wisconsin over these political issues. I found it very depressing, but do advocates of revolution view this as progress? I don't know.

You can't make an omelet without breaking a few judges.

As Farina said, when you are down so far it looks like up.
Nothing left to lose but chains.

OT?, but politics:Ian Welsh goes on a three post rant about Cuomo, gay marriage, and Left solidarity. Y'all don't cred me for how nice and diplomatic I am. Although to be fair, I do take this kind of analysis seriously enough to make me humble, even though it feels like final despair.

Couldn't beat Prosser in an election (probably rigged, they are smarter than us)? Fuck elections. Hit the streets and stay there.

"Progress" never gets past these lips. Peach gotta rot to release the pit.

Since Prosser is the common denominator in a bunch of different disputes, I'm going to assume he's the asshole.

Seems fair to assume he's an asshole. This doesn't, of course, preclude Bradley being another.

On second thought, no cobbler for me.

Or you could just eat the peach.

It never occurred to me that the peach pit was being held against its will.

I think maybe the seed of the peach is being held against its will in that bumpy outer cover.

Some years, I buy fresh peaches and get nothing but disappointing mush or apple-hard bites. Some years, they are just perfect. Maybe I should move to Georgia.

Actual judges choking each other... I mean, it's a dull week in (frex) Taiwan when members of the legislature don't start throwing punches, but senior judges? Really quite special.

Well, they're elected judges, ajay. They're not supposed to have any dignity or objectivity. They have fact-free campaign commercials and take bribes like the rest of our politicians.

I referred this to an English magistrate who blogs, asking him what would happen here. He said:

If this happened in any court, to JPs. District Judges, Circuit Judges or whoever, those involved would immediately be removed from sitting while their cases were considered by the higher judiciary, and then, ultimately, the Lord Chief Justice. Dignity and credibility are all-important and the catch-all offence is bringing the judiciary into disrepute. These people seem to have done that all right.
The key word in his response seems to be "credibility".
