Why are so many players named "Fifa"?
That was a touching story about the Japanese team. I'm going to watch the first half of Midway so I can get into mindless national chauvinism.
It's kind of hard to hate on the Japanese.
Tojo was my grandmother's landlord and he took her security deposit for no reason.
1: Malcolm Gladwell explained that in Outliers.
OK, I either hate this tablet or its browser. Could not get it to do the italics tag.
I wonder how the dames' skirts' broads' dolls' girls' soccer-playing experience in Japan differs from its U.S. counterpart.
US lucky--bad offside call, should have been a breakaway.
Is the US up 1-0 anywhere else than my living room? It's a good life.
Or some other episode. My eyeglasses are probably about to break.
Shit! Bad breakdown....not that anyone cares.
I think it's just your living room, JP.
Blandings, Eggplant! I was so scared.
What's the record for consecutive comments?
I recall Tweety going for the whole side panel once.

I wouldn't have thought Fox News could surprise me.

I guess I'm overtired. That was a really nice nap though.
US D & goalie making it more interesting than it needs to be.
I knew that my tummy couldn't take this game. I went and ate a pizza. Now, I check in and it is a nail-biter. Ugh.
Good lord. This keeper is only 5'2", why are we shooting like this?
Luckily I'm only emotionally invested in sports that are largely domestic.
I'm not very good at the internet.

The NOTW scandal has just taught me something I probably should have known, that Scotland Yard and the Metropolitan Police are one and the same. I had always assumed Scotland Yard was like the FBI, doing high-level policing exclusively.

If they have someone capable of high-level policing, why do they need to call so often upon the services of Batman Sherlock Holmes?
52: I thought Scotland Yard was the name of the building that came to be used for the institution that uses the building, the same way people say "the House of Representatives" instead of the "Large Group of People Representing a Larger Group of Other People."
54 is sort of right. Scotland Yard (Street) has buildings on it which have been used for a bunch of stuff over the centuries. The Met was originally located there and became associated with it, but hasn't been there for a hundred years or so. When it moved to its present location that was named New Scotland Yard to create avoid confusion. New Scotland Yard really is the Met HQ and nothing else.
