It occurs to me that in the unlikely event of Rick Perry ever becoming President, he could never be re-elected, because he would refuse to pardon the turkey.
"There will be no negotiations with poultry on my watch!"
5: You'd think, but then one of Perry's advisers, realizing it's going to look bad, convinces him that the turkey deserves to be pardoned, having been convicted of violating the Clean Water Act.
The more things change, the more they stay the same. This year the bread stuffing was non-vegetarian, too few people for cornbread stuffing, and I don't know WFT that cranberry velvet pie was, but this year it's pumpkin, dammit.

You know, I have often (at least once a year) doubted the veracity of the slogan "You can get anything you want at Alice's restaurant", even allowing for the explicit "excepting Alice" caveat and stipulating that the claim is referring only to food items.
