I don't remember where it came from, but I've had this in my iTunes library for years. It kind of starts out not-so-melodic and then flirts with becoming "Clair de Lune" but doesn't quite.
If we're freely hyping bands, I hung out with the Dangerous Ponies again last night. Pop music in the 1960s vein out of South Philly. What's not to love?
I was thinking of making a mix but I only got as far as deciding on a first and a last track. (Alasdair Roberts' "The Two Brothers" and Alastair Galbraith, Alex Neilson, and Richard Youngs' "Idumea", respectively.)
4: I'm surprised "Dangerous Bronies" doesn't get more Google hits.
Hey, this is pretty good! Nice to know people are still making power-pop-ish stuff.
Donnie Iris is pretty great in a particular time and place kind of way. Wait, where did everyone go? How come nobody wants to hang out any more?
I'm also elated that there's a Squeeze cover band in town. How hilarious is that? Squeeze!
8: Ah, The Rapper dude. Band name for that effort was a Pittsburghism.

Dion? Ronettes? Dave Clark 5? Easy Beats? Archies?
I think you need to define your terms.
When I got to CMU in 1990, one of my first conversations with my (5 year older) sister end as follows:
J: Have you heard this great song? It goes like, "Love will rock you/never shock you..."
S: Yeah, that came out like 5 or more years ago.
J: Huh. I never heard it before, but it's on the radio all the time here.
That's yer Dawnnie Ahris. And it really is a pretty good power pop song - not even especially dated wrt production or instrumentation (little/no synth, no cheesy sax, no ultra-polished sound).
Huh, the song in the OP is actually good. Nice drumming.
Anyone know a good music streaming service in Europe? I miss my rhapsody, and stupid spotify jumped straight from finland to the us.
I don't know what 'finland to the us' means? I use spotify, in the UK.
I don't know what 'finland to the us' means?
Finland to the United States, avoiding Great Britain, Ireland, the Faroe Islands, Iceland and capitalisation.
Yeah, except Spotify is both available in the UK and widely used. Which is why I'm confused. According to wiki, Spotify is available in:
Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Faroe Islands, Finland, France, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States.
So, pretty much all of western Europe and Scandinvia, except Germany.
A bit shit if simulated annealing is in Germany, though.
Hmm, thought it was just in Scandinavia, UK and US. But anyway, it's still avoiding my home country. I've got a vpn at home but I don't want to be totally dependent on it for music. Seem to be some hints that premium accounts with a US credit card will work elsewhere.

Or Poland or Portugal, just for the 'P's. There's a lot of odd gaps in there actually. Presumably they have reciprocal keep off my lawn agreements with some other outfits, or licensing issues - I'd believe licensing issues for Italy.
Yep, I'm in Italy. The legal quagmire is probably the story here. Not holding my breath for that to change, despite all the current promises.
Good point, I'd missed Italy and Portugal weren't on the list. FWIW, when a friend emigrated to the US (before the US had spotify) his UK account worked there, at least for a while. I suppose it'd only take a single monthly payment to find out if it works in Italy.
Drummers should have lots of facial hair.
The song that has really caught my ear recently is Yuck's "Get Away". The drummer has lots of facial hair.

I have been on an Unfunkked kick. Such great mixes, Apo!
