I posted that answer before you updated the post with that rule.

I accept the contention of 3, yet I feel that you might have done better to both excuse 1 and furnish an explanation for the answer it contains.

Okay, fine: Santa because worshipful and Fe because iron.

I maintain that the explanation requirement seems like more of a Standpipe's blog thing.

Worshipful and congregate. Nevertheless, well done. I wondered how obvious/easy it was.

Roswell probably has cheaper hotels.

7: that's true, but one might otherwise have thought that "Fe" was the sole factor.

And I couldn't bear the thought that the whole thing would go unrecognized, because, well.

Clovis is both the name of the first Christian ruler of Gaul and of a style of tools/weapons but it doesn't quite work because the Clovis culture used stone.

12 --- hmm? First Christian ruler of Gaul is surely Constantine; Clovis is first Christian ruler of France.

Clovis attempted to take Fresno but was stopped outside the city walls.

Clovis is first Christian ruler of France.

Of the Franks. France wasn't really a concept until the 10th century. It was West Francia, as opposed to East Francia, which was most of Germany. Clovis controlled most of Gaul north of the Loire except Brittany, plus Belgium and the Netherlands (more or less). Southern Gaul was run by the Goths, the Burgundians and the Romans at the time.

The answer in 1 is wrong. The correct answer is Los Lunas. It's the only place in the state that has a church sacred to St Clement, the patron saint of blacksmiths.

Since teo ended the thread at 1, this feels like a safe place to go off-topic.

Here is a teaser clip for the new season of Archer that a) will make you feel bad for laughing and b) has a gigantic spoiler, if you're the one person in the world who watches Archer for the continuity.

22.2: In angels-on-a-pin territory, but is that really a spoiler? It looks like the kind of thing that gets revealed in the first five minutes to set everything up, and might easily be in the general-audience synopsis.

I'm way too lazy to torrent. That and I'm hoping watching everything on Netflix and Hulu helps push those models of content. The Shield in it's entirety is on Hulu now, which is awesome.

Every now and then I get really annoyed with ads on Hulu plus. I already paid! I'd be willing to pay a bit more for no ads.

Archer doesn't really bear up under reviewing the way, say, The Simpsons does.

Sure it's not much effort but these days I just plop down on the couch and fire up the Roku. I don't have any kind of cable or satellite and I just want the media companies to get their shit together and make their content accessible.

Huh, so it does. I've been there many times but somehow never noticed that church, even though it appears to be right in the middle of town.
