Everybody else is too highbrow to comment on this!
I just assumed everyone was listening and grooving out.
Speaking of middlebrow, I got my Baby K'Tan today and am open to suggestions about favorite wearing styles. Selah is 30 inches tall and just under 25 lbs, so I'm not keen on having her front-facing on my front so that I have a mouth full of adorable curls but am otherwise pretty open. She liked the standard facing-me version fine, but essentially wants to use my cleavage as storage space.
She is adorably cheerful and charming and I really hope her new medicine will make this an easier night for both of us. She is remarkable and I'm still sort of amazed we were chosen for her.
Aww, thanks, Moby! And everyone else, but there's something extra special about Moby. I think it's the rusty nails.
8 to the OP not the baby report.
Babies don't have brows. Or not very visible ones if you don't pencil them in.
Selah has brows and eyelashes so long and curly they almost touch the eyelid.
Advice on baby reflux is also welcome, alas.
Yay baby! I think on your back but front-facing on the Ergo works for that size. We did that with my nephew recently. We are doing front facing on the Beco but φ is probably still around 18 lbs.
re: 12.last
We think Alex has it, or did. We've tried tilting the end of his cot up slightly* and it seems to help. We've not investigated medicines yet, though.
* he has the complete Penguin Orwell, and a book on Rawls wedged under the legs at one end.
re: 11
Alex has quite heavy brows. The hair is light gingery blonde but the brows themselves are pretty solid.
13: I am not telling anyone here or at home about the weird muscle (joint?) I didn't know I had that is spasming or damaged or something, but an alternative to the Ergo was part of the plan. (But while I'm ATMing, what's the deal with intense pain on what the What-not-to-wear folks would call saddlebags, the outside of my thight? WTF?? So unfair, though it's probably good to have a wakeup call that if I'm bringing thr baby out it's unrealistic to bring a library book.) Anyway, people here had recommended the K'Tan and so I got that as our second carrier so that I can alternate days.
Selah was on this medicine for months and then transitioned off it, but once she was with us adding a wedge under the mattress didn't help. It's been really awkward to hear her do the horrible retching cough from 11 pm to 2 am every night and know that I have to wait for her medical card to get transferred to us and her records sent from the old doctor to her new doctor and so on. I think things will get better soon and either way we'll get her to an ENT to make sure there hasn't been any damage. It's definitely worse for us than for her, since she seems to sleep through it and she's htowinng fine.
Φ; is on Pepcid for reflux. It helps. There was a previous medicine that tasted awful, but she likes the taste of this one.
We tilted her bassinet up with two wooden bowls. She has been exposed to literature, though; I once knocked The Yiddish Policeman's Union onto her head from the top of a bookshelf.
The Beco has a really nice waist strap that provides back support. According to the website it's good for up to 35 lbs. The fasteners are tricky to do one-handed but after trying the Ergo, the Bjorn, and the Boba wrap it's the favorite around here. (The wrap is more comfortable but more of a pain to put on.)
Chabon, drones...what else shall assault these poor wee ones?
Alex is a great looking kid. Very expressive. And he does have brows. (Frankly this babysplosion has been a cute overload.)
