The fuck? Also, what does "tweeted in meme form" mean?
That whole website is something special.
Tangentially, he really really likes semicolons, but doesn't much understand how they work.
They tweeted this in a way that indicated their affiliation with the university?
The comparison to the swastika and the juxtaposition of that to charges of hypocrisy really take this to its own level of fuckedness.
1: I just mean it wasn't that link - I had to find that link using the text. The tweet was the image and words itself.
3: Yep. Someone in the financial aid office probably forgot they were logged in as the financial aid office and thought they were (re)-tweeting it from their personal account.
This seems something that could easily be forwarded on to the closest not-sympathetic-to-this newspaper.
Hey now! I really really like semicolons, but don't much understand how they work.
There's some disease related semicolon meme that I've vaguely noticed. Way to raise awareness!
So, they don't seem to have many followers. I think maybe this won't blow up into a news story.
Wtf? Kentucky and Missouri didn't secede.
Not yet. That's why there's not a date for them.
They left off Maryland, maybe because Maryland didn't have some kind of Confederate government in exile. Or because they didn't remember it was a slave state at the start. Or because sniffing glue hurts white supremacists too.
Look, everyone agrees the Nazi flag is innocuous, right? So why get mad about the stars and bars? Bunch of Euro-loving America-hating hypocrites.
There is now an apology tweet. (Not full-throated enough for me, but it expresses contrition.) I'm expecting llama-themed tweets will follow.
Speaking of, somebody should make a TV series about a two cousins who smuggle LSD-like psychedelic drugs that their uncle makes on his run down farm. They drive a souped-up Beemer called the General Rommel and drink steins of beer at a place called The Adlerhorst, where their girl cousin waits tables dressed in a very revealing dirndl.
The owner of The Adlerhorst is Führer Schwein, of course.
Some people are trying to get Jefferson Davis Highway renamed in Virginia. It's a matter of state law, unfortunately. So a change is unlikely to happen in my lifetime.
But it has gotten some coverage. To give an idea of how hard it will be, here's a quote from a Fairfax County Democratic Delegate:
"I mean, Jefferson Davis was an avid racist and segregationist, and I don't think anybody would name anything after him today," [Scott] Surovell said. "But there's not a whole lot of people clamoring about it except coffee-shop liberals in Arlington."
In his county, for some reason, US 1 is not named after JD. Instead it is just Richmond Highway.
A few weeks ago I did email my Commonwealth Senator about the issue (I live on the damned road in Arlington) and in his reply said he favored the change but in talking with colleagues there wasn't much support. He did at least win points with me for referring to "Southern treason."
The next post on that site is "I have to agree with Trump!"
While we are on the subject of screwy things people say, I just encountered the claim that if abortion were outlawed in all cases except rape, we would see a dramatic rise in false claims of sexual assault as women frame their boyfriends so they can get an abortion.
Wouldn't it be easier to frame some non-existent guy?
Not if you want to claim that they are the father of the fetus you want to abort.
And the blue is for Scotlannnnnnn'! For some reasonnnnnnn!
There's always been a current of Scottish patriotism among Klansmen and their ilk. Some folk etymology of "Ku Klux Klan" has it coming from something in Gaelic. Probably ties in with Christian Identity somehow.
Meanwhile, back at the schloss...
It ought to be for the Scots who were enslaved after '45.
And the blue is for Scotlannnnnnn'! For some reasonnnnnnn!
The Scottish flag is a white St Andrew's cross on a blue background. A blue St Andrew's cross is the former Imperial and current Russian naval ensign. So they couldn't even get that right.

I was kind of expecting this comment to continue "...which is weird, since as we know they were all Israelis".
22 And he appears to be unclear about what it was that Trump said:
I most certainly have to agree with the Donald. The true hero's are those that came home in boxes, or not at all.POW - MIA - KIA see this Daily News article.
"Where I come from, there are no heroes' graves - just holes in the ground for fools."
Unexpected moment of seriousness from the otherwise very funny "The Pyrates".
