Loved those, made Friday more bearable.
"Silicon valley is the Q/A department for the rest of the world" MY FLASK DAMMIT
Wonderful!
Thanks -- this really is good, although GOOD IS NEVER ENOUGH. I laughed out loud at "Talking about an artisanal 4-person 3D printing shop in Brooklyn, which will presumably grow into a 30-person hyperdimensional printer".
"Trickle-down economics is an intimidation tactic masquerading as economic theory." Best VC ever. Last against the wall.
Love it!
Thank you, Ben. This is fantastic and I hadn't seen any of it (was only vaguely aware of this guy at all.) It's my favorite thing right now and what I am emailing to everyone that I bore with my late-developing love of Twitter.
(His blog, idlewords.com, is really fantastic.)
Maciej is right: putting a couple angry Uber/Lyft drivers on stage with the company reps would have been both good theater and really illuminating.
I may never make a bookmark, but I think I'm going to sign up for pinboard anyway.
9 I think he made an offer that it's free for librarians (and archivists?) but later regretted it because we're a bunch of cheap greedy jerks. Or something.
The OP is very long but well worth reading through. Hilarious stuff.
Great stuff. Did his Antarctica trip ever get funded/happen?
Are we in Antarctica yet?
That was fantastic. I am glad I clicked after all.
10: I thought that was just a temporary offer. At the time, I didn't think it was worth paying for a subscription bookmark service. Now, surprisingly, I have more reason to use something like that. The one thing that's held me back on Pinboard is it would be optimally useful to me with a good mobile option.
But third party, right? I guess that's fine but I generally try to stick with the same developers for things like this. I probably have trust issues.
I used Diigo for a while but its app was having problems on my phone, now use Pocket but it's really a reading tool, not great for when you just want a link.
