She's out, in a room, asking for coffee. So everything seems to be okay.
Thinking of you Heebie. Hope you're feeling better soon.
Yay Heebie. Glad to hear this and hoping for a speedy recovery.
And I forgot that Messily was with you (yay Messily!)
Yay! Hope everything continues to go well!
Yay disregard of off-blog communication sanctity Heebie!
Woo hoo! Hook 'em horns or whatever!
I am sending my patented Magickal Good Vibes to both Heebie and Alameida. To my knowledge they have never failed. Take care, both of y'all.
Love for 10. Hope you heal rapidly, Heebie.
Three cheers for never having to wear a bra again! Also, to giving breast cancer the middle finger!
I just want to say good luck. We're all counting on you.
Yes indeed. Wishing you a quick recovery!
Aw, I'm misty eyed. What a nice thing to wake up to. Should be going home today.
Glad to see I made it in just under the wire! Phew.
7: there's no sanctity here.
22: I'll bake you some more olive bread.
25: olive bread is becoming Trauma Bread, for celebrating things like floods and mastectomies.
Hopefully the river is behaving reasonably too.
I checked your blog, to see if there was news; then I thought to check here. Yay, heebie!
27- yeah. Also I ate all the olive bread while you were in the hospital. I'm so supportive!
Glad things are going smoothly, Heebs.
Also I ate all the olive bread while you were in the hospital. I'm so supportive!
Well, you wouldn't want her to have STALE olive bread, surely.
That's right. Only the best for our Heebie.
Would you share your olive bread recipe so the rest of us can show our support by making and eating some?
3 c bread flour
1 package yeast
1 1/2 t salt
1 1/2 c warm water
chopped olives (I've been using kalamata but whatever) (1-2 cups ish)
olive oil to coat the resting bowl
cornmeal for dusting
mix flour, yeast, salt, water into floppy dough. Coat with oil, cover with plastic wrap, rest until doubled.
fold olives in, wrestle into a ball shape again. Coat with cornmeal and cover with towel. Rest until doubled again. Put a heavy pot (dutch oven or similar) in the oven and heat to 450.
Put the dough in the pot and bake covered for 30 minutes then uncovered for 20-30 more.
Try not to let Heebie slice it until it's cooled off for a little while.
Also, if your house floods in the middle of baking it and the electricity shuts off and you have to evacuate, just leave the bread in the oven and then come back and get it 7 hours later and put it back in the oven at your friends' house. It'll turn out fine.
Glad to hear it went well, heebie. Speedy recovery to you!
(Also, if you add walnuts to the olive bread --- extra, extra nummy.)
I'm trying the paleo diet. Can I substitute something for the flour?
Coincidentally I bought a load of olive olive bread at a Paul in the mall earlier. It was pretty good.
I have eaten
the olive bread
that was in
the breadbox
and which
you were probably
saving
for post-surgical recovery
Forgive me
it was delicious
and people will
bring you tons more food anyway
29 is badass. All the best, heebie.
Good to hear that everything went well. Enjoy some olive bread.
Happy to hear that they're springing you from the joint!
Paul in the mall
Christ, and I thought the "elf on the shelf" was sanctimonious.
Load s/b loaf.
And wishes for a speedy and uncomplicated recovery. And loads of olive loaves.
And yes, good that things are still well--yay for breads!
51 there are many Pauls in many malls here.
He used to be Saul in the mall, until he met Jesus on the road to Da Macy's.
Yay! Home to olive bread and, VSOOBC, kittens!
The Paul in the Mall met the Luke in the Souk.
So far the best part of the kittens is Rascal's infatuated/shy response. He alternates between chasing them around the floor and hiding his face in his hands, overwhelmed by the cuteness & fuzziness of it all.
Heebie went to the hospital and came back with kittens? Is Jammies okay with raising them as his own?
There's so many kids around here already, he probably won't even notice.
There's so many kids around here already, he probably won't even notice.
Has he realized yet that you are living there too?
Only because I keep making messes in the kitchen.
Oh, I missed this. Speedy recovery Heebie!
Me, too, due to meetings all day. Get well soon Heebie!
All good wishes to heebie from buttfuck nowhere, north island, New Zealand. This is the first wifi in five days and I just caught up with the news.
And to Al, too.
