104! I'm so excited to add this to my pile of nonlucrative skills.
omg @ the scoreboard. 1st place has to be a bot...
I got 74, but it's too boring to play again.
It's no comment thread of hardcore right-wingers.
7, with a mean error (which seems like the more interesting data point) of 0.17.
Did any of you get an intuition whether the difficulty increased as you went?
"More interesting" partly because I don't have any idea how the scoring works. "Mean error" I understand.
How long does this go on? Forever, until you screw up three times in a row?
I mean, I'm up to 81 now, but it keeps on giving me more lives.
Well, people would probably do better if every time you got one wrong you had to read a Jonah Goldberg article.
112. and i was up around 100 with three lives, because as LB says if you get close it keeps giving you more lives. Just takes one cold streak, though, and I (obviously) lost focus.
If there was a systematic pattern to the ones that were hard, it was correlations between .2 and .5. I was pretty good at "There is basically nothing there" and different levels of fairly strong correlation. But the difference between a vaguely x=y oriented blob that meant .2 and one that meant up to around .6 was hard for me to see.
I crapped out fast (I never actually took a stats class, so I was flying semi-blind--I really didn't know what 0.5 would look like), but 15 was my experience as well.
Wow, now I'm glad I was bad at this game.
My high score is five. I don't get the point of looking at this for the 'r'. The r comes out in a nice little number. You look at the plot for the skew and none looked like they had a problem.
Since it scores at errors of 0.05 and 0.1 the really correlated ones are simple because if it's basically a line just guess 0.95 (never guess more than that obvs). Agreed the 0.2 to 0.4 are the hard ones, I also had more trouble when the slope was not 1. 55 on the first try, then see 5 above.
I really didn't know what 0.5 would look like
It's very helpful to read the "about" page which gives some samples.
I got 91 on my first try and thought it was interesting, but quickly got boring.
Comment 21, that is. I haven't played yet.
I stopped at just over 100 with 3 hearts and a mean error of 0.06. I should be taken more seriously by the scientific community, although, in keeping with my skepticism, I almost always guessed low.
If I die of DVT in my workplace restroom it will be because of that Rop game ogged linked to.
I didn't make it past "please enter a username." My answer was "no", but you need to have three characters.
