I'll check out the book on Monday or Tuesday and will see how intimidating it looks.
OK, fine, I'll participate. I wouldn't have read Piketty w/o the group. I'll do 9 and 10 because USA USA USA.
The Kindle edition is $2 more than the paperback. Such bullshit.
Bezos wants a different kind of deluge.
I bought it because I'm traveling and wanted something to read.
The enthusiasm here is just overwhelming.
But you're dedicated trolls so I know you're bright eyed and bushy tailed behind those jaded personae!
Gonna go lick it up tomorrow--they already pulled it for me an' everything.
Poor Mossy! Please don't take it personally. We're this unenthusiastic and bitter about everything.
And what about your copy of the book?
See, 8 shows unusually strong enthusiasm. Maybe people from the sanitizer thread can weigh in.
9: I know, hence 7. I too am bitter about everything, hence my presence.
I have been bitter with you, my brother,
Remembering that saying of Lenin when the shadow
Was already on his face: "The emotions are not skilled workers."
Yet we are as the double almond concealed in one shell.
I have mistrusted your apodictic strength
Saying always: Yet why did you not finish Hyperion?
But now I have learned not to curtail
What was in you the valency of speech
The bond of molecular utterance.
Apparently, I failed to order the book. I honestly thought I had.
So far I'm finding it interesting, and, although there are details that make me question his story, the broad narrative sweep seems convincing. So far (part 1) he doesn't seem to be pushing an original thesis particularly, but I expect that comes in post-war.
Fake Accent, I know I have your email somewhere but I can't locate it. Send me an email?
I put my name on the spreadsheet, checked out the book from the library. I'll probably end up renewing it unread until it gets close to my turn to summarize.
I just noticed this and saw that no one had arbitrarily assigned me to anything, so I picked some chapters.
Wait, there's a spreadsheet now?
I'm not voting for Halfordismo if that's how the Generalissimo does business.
Hey I missed this earlier but I'll read along.
I have a copy and am reading, Mossy. There is so, so much in this world that I don't know.
