This was really interesting and well done. While we're on the topic, the new Aesop Rock album is outstanding.

There is a very well regarded rap-as-poetry class at the U of MN -- heavy duty focus on meter and whatnot
That was great, thanks for pointing it out.
I liked it.
The narrator has an NPR voice though.
The a-previous-video-instead glitch put the George Harrison song in place of the video about rap for me, which was appropriate given the title.
5 is funny. The same glitch led me to actually watching the Google video.
The intended video really is a good one.
That is very good. Both the samples are well chosen and it uses the visual effectively.
It makes me think that I should give Madvillainy another try. I respect it, but haven't really warmed to it.
But I thought the general unfogged consensus was anti-vox . . .
I watched the video all the way through, which is very surprising--I'm normally a "no video on the internet" scowl. But the presentation and graphics really clarified and underscored their case--I didn't even run it in a hidden tab (that's how I typically listen to podcasts).
yeah that was really good.
the last bit about MF Doom's sneaky replacement of the expected word with a clever set up for the next verse reminded me of the old playground rhyme:
Miss Suzy had a steamboat
The steamboat had a bell
Miss Suzy went to heaven
The steamboat went to-
Hello operator
Give me number nine
If you disconnect me
I'll kick your big be-
'Hind the 'frigerator
There was a piece of glass
Miss Suzy fell upon it
And cut her big old-
Ask me no more questions
Give me no more lies
The boys are in the restroom
zipping up their-
Flies are in the meadow
The bees are in the park
Miss Suzy and her boyfriend
Are kissing in the D. A. R. K.
(but in my school we had Miss Mary, not Miss Suzy)
I am unable to read that without adding the final, and completely unfunny, verse:
The dark is like a movie,
A movie's like a show.
A show is like a TV set
And that is all I know.
And in my school it was Miss Lucy.
I don't know what you people are talking about.
it has it's own Wiki page, with regional variations!

That is a good video, but I've always preferred the analysis found here.
