Hamilkins are Hamilton furries? (Or Hamilton cosplayers, I guess?)
No need to answer. You've done enough already.
1: Worse. Really anything internettish ending in -kin you will profit by avoiding learning more.
Hannibal Hamkin was Linkin's first Vice President.
I Googled it. Really a lot less disturbing than I expected. It's just people who think they're the reincarnation of characters from Hamilton. (Not the historical persons; the characters from the musical.)
It's just a phase kids go through. I knew a chap at college who spent most of his first Michaelmas Term insisting he was the Duke of Plaza-Toro.
Buzzfeed quizzes are antisemitic. I'm taking one now and it wouldn't accept "oh my g_d" when the answer was supposed to be "oh my god".
Definitely related because Buzzfeed and Tumblr are both full of confusing young people.
Wait. What does "reincarnation" mean again?
It means you need to live right or you come back as Roy Moore.
I just read a post (or something) on something called "Fictionkin" that says "Are Hamilkin Factkin?" and then is followed by opnions from people abou whether or not they are.
It's a brave new world.
+i, +t
The consensus is that no, they aren't.
Opinionated Dung Beatle
Yeah, you got that somethin'
I think you'll understand
When I feel that somethin'
I want to roll your dung
Apo's still got it: even when he can't supply regrettably unforgettable links, he can do it with an earworm.
NW, your piece about the catholic church was really good. Congrats on all the pageviews.
Agreed. There was another good one on the Catholic Church in Ireland in the nyt... Kevin Drum posted about it.
I thought so as well. (Because I'm an idiot, I read it, clicked away, and then ten minutes later thought "Wait, religion, Guardian?" and looked back to see who it was by, and confirmed that it was nworB. I'm terrible about reading by-lines.)
You secretly bury hundreds of babies and suddenly it's a big problem.
I haven't read nworb's yet. I'm in the middle of my walk circling the east end of Pittsburgh. I just stopped for a couple of beers to make the last five miles easier.
This post makes me miss my pre-election life, back when I could get upset about things on tumblr. There was a time when I would have had, like, a nuanced opinion about why people believe all this "kin" stuff and how it relates to the culture of online social justice, queer and gaming communities, and now I just don't care.
(I know, the pseud was stolen from metafilter) I will look up the NYT piece. Thanks. The little shit quoted anonymously in the piece has completely disappeared off twitter. I hope to see him at a reception later this month.
That was a good article. Also, I walked 15.5 miles according to my phone, which is a very honest phone.
24 reminds me of the Onion headline after 9/11: Nation Yearns To Just Care About Stupid Shit Again.
Thanks for pointing out that article. I otherwise only read the Guardian for the guy who insults kitchen appliances.
So, I really hate Jill Stein and want her heard from no more, but I'd love to see an Al Franken presidency. How do I resolve the inherent contradiction?
30: How is that a contradiction? Are they buddies? I'm not seeing much on google except misguided fantasias of them as running mates.
30: Not all Jewish people are the same.

The Soviet era's enigmatic wing-in-ground-effect (WIG) "ekranoplans" are set to make a comeback according to various Russian media reports. In particular, a massive 600 ton design that is intended to carry out resupply and search and rescue missions in the Arctic is said to be in development, with flight testing planned for sometime in 2022 or 2023.
Aha, I see I'm not the only one with an "ekranoplan" Google alert.
30 is puzzling because aren't they in different parties?
Franken-Stein 2020. That's the joke.

Wow. Those are intense and amazing.
