Can you send me his resume? I think he meets all of our qualifications for federal appeals court.

The hidden downside to widespread acceptance of religious fanaticism in public officials.

Yeah, when people talk about moderate religion providing cover for extremists, this is what they mean. Because this man is either lying or mentally ill. And if he'd said that the voice in his head was George Soros or Joe DiMaggio or his neighbour's dog, he'd be receiving the psychiatric help he clearly needs, but because he said it was God he will be protected.

I'm not sure he'll be protected.

What's so funny about the name of New Braunsfels paper?

It is interesting actually. That there was a German-language paper in Texas until 1958, and it was founded at "a mass meeting of interested New Braunfels residents." And that its press was thrown in the river for being pro-Confederate. Also, how do Texans pronounce "zeitung"?

I'd say it rhymes with Bye Tongue but I can't recall if I've heard it outloud or not.

In order for Heebie to continue Always Being Right, someone needs to make at least one more comment on the New Braunfels Herald-Zeitung.

11, 14 The dates don't quite align* but I've been thinking I need to find a way to work that in to my History of the Republic of Texas East India Company.

*Not really a problem since the RTEIC goes on for some years after Texas becomes a state.

RoTEIC maybe better.

How about East India (Texas) Company as shorthand? Then you get the EITC acronym which helpfully yields hundreds of thousands of Google hits. Not that you need any search engine optimization, of course.

17 That's good.

( I don't remember if you've commented here before but it's good to see you here, LGM just hasn't been the same since the Disqus migration and website revamp).
