I guess the more indefensible Republican rule gets the more tempting it becomes to retreat into a pure Tom Clancy fantasy for which reality is the smokescreen.
It would be entertaining if it weren't so reminiscent of Protocols of the Elders of Zion.
The closest US history counterpart I know of, which fortunately blew over but might not have:
The [American Protective Association] movement began operations in each locality, where it spread, by "the furtive distribution" of certain documents calculated to engender fear and distrust of the Catholics.
Of these documents there were two—one purporting to be "instructions to Catholics", apparently bearing the signatures of eight prelates of the Catholic Church; and the other, the famous Papal bull or encyclical calling for the massacre of the Protestants "on or about the feast of St. Ignatius in the year of our Lord, 1893."
...
The daily press of the country also related the story that Mayor Major of Toledo, had detachments of hte Ohio National Guard on duty continuously for a week, about September 5, 1893, when the uprising of Catholics was expected.
the famous Papal bull or encyclical calling for the massacre of the Protestants "on or about the feast of St. Ignatius
People who plan massacres on feast days are well known for being flexible about scheduling.
At least there's precedent for that. Whereas lizard people, not so much.
Cassandane sent me this yesterday. I guess I have to read it now.
1: Fucking Russian monarchists have one trick.
"The A to Z of destabilizing a country: Q will surprise you!"
Even less funny than QAnon is this Scheuer business. The short version: an ex-CIA guy whose website is regularly touted on a radio show Trump has appeared on eight times (and who's married to the woman who the Jessica Chastain character in Zero Dark Thirty was based on) is calling for right-wing death-squads.
8 he even put Obama on his hit list. Has he been visited by the Secret Service yet?
Every age gets the Nostradamus it deserves. And ours is the dumbest of ages.
8: fortunately it seems that no one was taking him seriously. "Since then, Scheuer's rhetoric and conspiracism has continued to escalate as we approach Aug. 1, a notional deadline he has set for President Trump to take action before armed patriots take matters into their own hands." That written on 31 July. Date today: 3 August.
Also the horrible "Zero Dark Thirty" really isn't ageing well, is it?
9: When some nutter takes him at his word, he'll say he was just trolling, and that'll be good enough for everyone.
11: Let's hope the lack of response holds up.
Never actually saw the film. It's the only case I can think of where I have been moved to avoid seeing a film because of (what I take to be) its content. Not saying I have a good explanation for singling it out among all the other offensive movies in the world.
From my cursory skimming of the news, the QAnon people look exactly as intelligent as they sound.
What Bigelow should have made is a horror movie in which Bin Laden is revealed to be a vampire. Near Zero Dark Thirty.
11/13: Yeah, but remember When Prophecy Fails - a touted deadline passing doesn't have the effect you'd think.
But the scare did not end with the passing of the date set for the massacre. The Catholics "were still biding their time, waiting to find their Protestant neighbors off guard." After the Papal bull served its purpose as a document to inspire fear, it again came into the record as an evidence of Jesuit trickery. The American Citizen of Boston, one of the strongest of the A.P.A. weeklies, said early in 1894:
"A favorite scheme of the Jesuit, is to cry 'wolf' when there is no wolf, until the Protestants really believe there never will be a wolf; and then, when off their guard, the wolf comes. This is being illustrated in the matter of the bogus encyclical which was circulated by tens of thousands last year... The Citizen never admitted the thing to its colums—knowing it to be a fraud, and declaring our belief that it was written by the Jesuits to bring discredit on the A.P.A. movement... But many good people took stock in this bogus document; among them, we are sorry to say, nearly every A.P.A. editor in the country..."
Make 'em say Uhhh, Q Non Anon, Q Non Anon
Lipreading Master P in 2018 is weird.
When we go one, we go all
We're going to need a whole lot more toilets.
To me the oddest part is where the Mueller investigation is a "crypto" part of the Trumpian plan to nail the various Dems etc. There is kind of a bizarro logic to it, however.
Was looking to see if there has been any merging of Laroushe and QAnon but seems not really.
Larouchian Qanana!
What a wonderful phase
Larouchian Qanana!
Ain't no passing craze
It means no worries
For the rest of your days
It's our problem-free philosophy
I'm torn between Qananananana qananana hey Jude . . . and Qanana, qananana, diamonds on the soles of their shoes . . .
Excellent, 21 has adopted the lyrics to "Ponarke Nanama" for a new purpose.
Quana-nana
Quana-nana
Hey! Hey!
Goodbye
Why are there so many songs about Qanons?
And what's on the other side?
Rainbows are visions, but only Qallusions,
And Qanons have nothing to hide.
So we've been told and some choose to believe it
I know they're wrong, wait and see.
Someday we'll find it, the Quanana connection,
The lovers, the dreamers and Q.
Well no one's ever seen what I mean
From the age of qananana thirteen
"on or about the feast of St. Ignatius in the year of our Lord, 1893."

That's some approxinal dating. The feast of Saint Ignatius is on July 31st.
Toledo is the Ohio of Ohio. What do you expect?
That reference to Mayor Major threw me. So did Toledo. With the reference to Ignatius I was primed to think of Spain.
35: Last week, Q pm'd me that "hte" is globalist/deep state code for "Hillary Takes Everything"
My mother-in-law is about to move into a retirement home, not quite assisted living. We're browsing the catalog of little seminars they offer to the residents, and one of them appears to be a conspiracy-flecked "Who killed JFK?" session.
I can only hope that this is the legacy that QAnon ends up with.
(I had come to post this under pause/play, but heebie was ready for me! That's the real conspiracy.)
Hey look, 40 comments.
Last night we were supposed to fly from DC to Toronto to Quebec City for a vacation with my family. The flight to Toronto was almost 3 hours late. Didn't keep us up to date well during the wait, by the way, such as not announcing when the flight was actually boarding. We missed our connecting flight. The airline - Porter Airline, to get their name our there - couldn't get us to Quebec City any time Saturday OR Sunday and also wouldn't put us up in a hotel. After fumbling around Toronto for an hour or two with a 3-year-old and her car seat, we got tickets on a bus that's supposed to head east 4 hours from now. Between the bus tickets and the hotel room, we're spending more than $500. Also, due to the delay, we might miss seeing my aunt entirely. Thanks, Porter Airlines.
Porter is one of those airlines that either wonderful or a trip across the River Styx. Do they still serve free beer?
That's a mystery I will never have the privilege of solving, because like Charon's ferry, I'm never going to fly Porter again. FOR REASONS THAT SHOULD BE FUCKING OBVIOUS.
|| I have delayed my trip back to Singapore because I'm still not in very good shape. I haven't hurt myself in four days which is both great and a low bar. I wanted to send the girls back without me, but girl y mass it clear that her soul would actually leave her body if she were forced to give her passport to strangers and speak to them, when she can't even ask the stewardess for anything other than water. I could feel her heart pounding in her body when I made the suggestion. it's scary to go back to Singapore what's i have no mental health resources. Aargh. guess I'll do my taxes. It will be soothing at least. |>
Oh my. I pray things improve for you soon (RIGHT NOW!), al.
Thinking all my good thoughts for you, alameida.
I won't burn myself if you won't!
