It's a really old story, heebie. I can't accept your excuses.

On the plus side, if Hastert is a precedent, Jordan might have a consequence after he retires or gets beaten.

I wonder if the alumni newsletters have anything to say about this, but not enough to read them.

Benchmarking against other Big 10 schools was a big deal back when I was there. By that standard, things are not as bad as they could be.

I admire your efforts to draw Labs back to the blog.

They featured this on Laurence O'Donnell's show. The testimony about the Congressman trying to get some guy to turn against his brother who had accused him was powerful.

3: They'll name some Congressional "rule" for him that is blandly accepted by the media as an ironclad reason to explain their unacceptable behavior*. I think the Jordan Rule will be that you have to be the biggest asshole possible to any witness in front of Congress who does not slavishly endorse the Republican agenda. Peter Baker in 2023: " Republicans bound by the Jordan Rule repeatedly pointed to the revenge porno released by the witness's ex to impugn her reliability and fitness to comment on healthcare policy."

*See the "Hastert Rule" about needing greater than half of your caucus to pass a bill. Most infamously used by Boehner to block voting on immigration reform that would have passed (and barely questioned by the press). Not that I'm bitter.

Further to 10: First time I really became aware of Jordan's special qualities was in 2015 when he had this exchange with Cecille Richards during Planned Parenthood hearings. (And searching for the video one of the first results I got was this headline in The Hill*, "Republican gets into shouting match with Planned Parenthood executive." The shouting it goes without saying was only from one participant.

(And subsequently I was semi-amazed that during the 11-hour HRC grilling that Trey Gowdy actually managed to be a bigger asshole than Jim Jordan. Not really reflected in Gowdy's image in the press. And also the whole spectacle was pretty much memory flushed. Remembering in it has made me hate everyone and everything abit more than usual.)

The appropriate spelling is Gym Jordan. And now that Justice Rape has shown the way in his responses to the Senate Judiciary Committee, I do hope that any who is questioned by Gym replies with something about his endorsing sexual molestation of young men by their college coaches. To every single question he asks.
