I looked it up and you're right. Sorry.
Obviously, the political changes at the Justice Department have been worse, but I'm not a lawyer so I don't know as much about the field.
Also see this long WaPo everything you knew was true or at least suspected about the last several months of the Coronavirus Task Force and WH response in general. Scott Atlas* features prominently, another Hoover Institute of Sucking and Blowing treasure.Birx not quite craven enough so she is being pushed aside.
Also a Sixty Minutes on Fauci last night and the security measures he needs. Also see the Ohio Health Director who resigned and hundreds of other public health officials around the country who have resigned or been harassed in various ways. That should probably be a bigger story in general and are a peak (and infuriating) example of the Republican destruction of the basic functioning of government.
*Whom Trump called Scott Adkins over the weekend, He also called Matt Gaetz "Rick Gates" several times at a rally. But we all know that pedophile Joe Biden is the senile one. Ask Lara Trump.
I love that Trump literally said he didn't mind that he's not an infectious diseases expert - just an expert was enough. A few years ago this was a big serious-people talking point, that society supposedly just wanted the authority of generic experts. Instead we should use common sense or something. Michael Gove said we'd had enough of experts. Now the ultimate, absolute wet fart populist himself says, yup, just gimme an expert, never mind on what.
Honestly, a generic expert (if that means a scientist with the ability to consume research) wouldn't be so bad right now. The problem is they aren't looking for anybody to use judgement. They want the policy they want and the science is supposed to change to match.
Gove was channelling Cummings when he said that. Cummings was his SPAD at Education. Whether he actually believed it is anybody's guess.
Also see the Ohio Health Director who resigned
That's Dr. Amy Acton, who has become a bit of a folk hero among woke Ohioans - many yard signs in my neighborhood proclaim their love for her, and the Dr. Amy Acton Fan Club on Facebook has 127.8K members https://www.facebook.com/groups/500716313939425/
Sadly, Governor DeWine's attempt to replace her didn't go well.
The severe criticism and harassment of former Health Director Dr. Amy Acton caused her appointed successor to quit just a few hours after she was introduced by Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine.

7: I was actually watching her briefings at one point. She resigned, but she kept some kind of low profile advisory role. I wondered if her replacement took the job and then thought. "I'm not really going to be in charge, because DeWine will pay attention to Acton." Also, the new director who only lasted a few hours, Duwve, came from South Carolina where she had been for only 5 months. Maybe she's not good at evaluating where she wants to work.
It's probably the death threats though. I find the general level of anxiety right now to be difficult to cope with and none of it is directly pointed at me.
I think part of it is more of the deliberate attempt to keep support for government lower by actively making government worse. If you make it so that experts who are in demand have to put up with Republican Lysenkoism and death threats, you'll permanently weaken the government by discouraging government service.
8: Amy Acton did stay on in an advisory role for a while, but she since left completely, and has a new job with a nonprofit. https://columbusfoundation.org/news-reports/news/amy-acton-named-director-of-kind-columbus
Meanwhile the Ohio state legislature has passed a law to limit the power of the Health Director. https://local12.com/news/local/ohio-senate-passes-bill-limiting-health-directors-power
11.2: Just the Senate. It looks like it hasn't gotten any hearing in the House yet (introduced 9/10). The legislative session lasts all year but there may be an earlier deadline for bills to get through.
12, 13: Thanks for the correction. The Ohio House is so crazy, it may not be extreme enough for them.
At least the ones who go to prison will probably find enough white extremists for their satisfaction.
Yep. The deep breathing doesn't work as well anymore.
This is the only Trump thread on the front page:
Trump pulled $15 million out of a Chinese subsidiary that hadn't made anything near that kind of money before he was president.
And the last debate is about foreign policy.
