Alternatively, the awesomeness of this guy playing Eternal Flame unperturbed by the background of the police curfew crackdown in Barcelona.

I like the original better, but this is nice. Not exactly soothing, but it's nice.
I'm.. not sure what I think about this cover.
This is my favorite version of "Under Pressure" (the video quality isn't great, and it starts off slow, but builds -- around 2:00 you can see them switch into higher focus and intensity.
I do like the version in the OP, but I really like Willie Nelson as a singer.

Have I linked to the David Bowie / Marianne Faithful cover of "I Got You Babe"? It's at least worth reading the comments ("This is spectacularly bad. I love it.")

I can't lie I like the Vanilla Ice version the most.
2 is cool but I get the sense the video cut off right before the police beat the shit out of everyone around the piano. They all look quite alarmed when the clip ends.
Her voice is lovely, and this is a neat interpretation, but I don't think Willie works here -- in contrast to, say, Johnny Cash doing "Hurt" or "Personal Jesus."
On the other hand, it's entirely posslbe that Annie Lennox is a better Freddie Mercury than Freddie was.
It's good but is it Shatner "Common People" fan video good?

12.1: I kinda felt the same way. I love Willie as a person, but I don't totally find that he has a universal Midas touch. Sometimes he works, and sometimes he doesn't.
(Although I don't love those Johnny Cash covers either.)
Fun fact, Lennox is Chancellor of Glasgow Caledonian University.
That's my second favorite fact I learned from reading the list of chancellors of UK universities, my favorite fact is that there's someone called "Baroness Young of Old Scone."

I really encourage you to listen to the version in 6. David Bowie and Gail Ann Dorsey. Perhaps it's just that i think they're gorgeous together, but I find it both musically great and utterly charming.
On reflection, this would have been better if Karen and Willie had switched roles.
17: That is a lovely version! Thank you.
I really like Willie Nelson as a singer.
I'm not a big fan of Willie, and I'm not much on Elvis, either, but Willie's cover of Blue Hawaii is irresistible to me.

I think part of the problem is that "Its the terror of knowing what this world is about/watching a good friend scream 'let me out'" is not actually a good line.
Hunky Dory is helping me feel some actual emotions this morning, so thanks. (Especially "Changes".)
17: The version at the Rolling Stone link is awesome. At about 2:30 Bowie busts out this giant grin as Dorsey is totally killing it.
I agree with 12 and 14.
One of favorite records this year was Waxahatchee's Saint Cloud but it had really awful timing, being a rather happy, mostly peaceful group of songs released on in late March. It's still got some messy parts but is a long way from the DIY punk sounds Katie Crutchfield once did or even the big rock sound of her last full-length record.

I also really liked Frances Quinlan's first solo record:

25: The link is the word "This" or just try this one: Under Pressure
Thanks, Dave, that is it.
Yes, there are a number of good videos of them together (and the article includes one) but that's my personal favorite.
This was on the radio the other day, Iris walked in and said, after less than a bar, "Queen's is better."
(This was in a tab queue)
1 is good; 6 is epic; I expected to like 12 more than I did but somehow Lennox's voice didn't cut through (maybe as simple as the recording levels)
