I started a new job recently and feel with some distress that meeting new people is become largely a matter of meeting the same old people with different names. I blame cancel culture.

I find that I like meeting new people more now that I'm supervising them.

I don't supervise anyone now and I like it.

They're mostly all super conscientious, so I don't have to chase them around much, I get to be advisory and benevolent, and defend them against our wacky client agencies.
