Yeah, the event I'm going to is at the big convention center and I'm staying in one of the nearby hotels. I may also try to get over to the east to check out the company office in the Bakery Square complex.
Is there a canonical place to meet up? Or at least regular suggestions?
You can take the 71c from downtown to Bakery Square, but the bus doesn't make it easy to get a receipt so you can submit an expense.
My sister's in town through Thursday, so I don't think I'll be able to make it, alas.
If you want to go to Bakery Square, I'd suggest Alta Via Pizzeria, run by one of our best chefs, or tako torta, a fancy-ish taqueria.
That's where we eat often and that is where we eat. Social was good for a while, but declined well before covid.
In the interest of proposing something concrete: I'm going to plan to be at the "Sly Fox at the Point" at 300 Liberty Ave, about 7pm on Wednesday. Likely on their outdoor patio.
I'll have a hat like this.
Counter-proposals welcome (I wasn't clear if Alta Via was a concrete suggestion for a place to be - if so, suggest a time!)
Sounds good. I won't be wearing a hat. I look like a fifty year old white guy named Michael.
Like more than most fifty year old white guys.
I will also not be wearing a hat.
My plane just touched down at PIT, so timing looks good and it's still on.
Arrggh, things have come up precluding my attendance. Apologies.
I'm dressed for performing late capitalism.
Arrived at the place a little early, sitting outside. I'll be easy to find because I'm the only one outside right now.
It was too sparsely attended for a traditional knife fight
