Re: Afroman

If the police can't be sued for their actions, nor should they be able to sue anyone else. Qualified immunity, baby.

That makes a very large amount of instinctive sense.

1: someone was saying on Twitter that by suing they've lost their protection under qualified immunity and can be countersued, but I don't know if that's true.

Here is one of the videos. I like the concept but the tune is just not catchy enough to keep me watching for 6 minutes.

This is hilarious, but I'm worried about him. I don't think there's any reason to think Adams County judges are any better than the Adams County police.

If they had trouble getting dates because of the video, they could add loss of consortium to the suit.

It took a while to hit me, but now I remember why Adams County, Ohio seemed familiar to me. It was one of the sites for a research study that I worked for on my first job.

It's not like it was a great place in 1996 when they voted better.

4. It's not objectively a good song, but it sounds exactly like "Because I Got High" so of course I love it. M and I joked that we should just keep it replaying on Youtube, but on mute, so that Afroman can get paid. The Adams County sheriff's department has a real Streisand Effect problem.

It isn't, but it does give me a good sense of what happened (which was covered in the OP, but the video adds more context)

"Lemon Pound Cake" is directly "Under the Boardwalk", so I presume the cops will sue the Drifters next.

14. It's like how they say you need to be on the right drugs to fully appreciate certain genres of music - MDMA for house, or heroin for Charlie Parker (I'm told). It would take such a massive amount of weed to make this into a patter song.

The link in 19 is to a live version of Tom Lehrer's "The Elements" which I hadn't seen before looking it up now, and which is fantastic (including the little coda at the end).

Willfully breaking the 40-rule: Trump indicted!

They did a good fakeout, saying they wouldn't do anything for at least a month.

Afroman should release a song about how Trump's been indicted but the cops who raided his house haven't been.

Ben Roethlisberger is both from rural Ohio (though not near Adams County) and involved (peripherally) in the events that got Trump indicted.

PERHAPS EVEN THE GRAND JURY SYSTEM AS A WHOLE. THE EVIDENCE IS SO OVERWHELMING IN MY FAVOR, & SO RIDICULOUSLY BAD FOR THE HIGHLY PARTISAN & HATEFUL DISTRICT ATTORNEY, THAT THE GRAND JURY IS SAYING, HOLD ON, WE ARE NOT A RUBBER STAMP, WHICH MOST GRAND JURIES ARE BRANDED AS BEING, WE ARE NOT GOING TO VOTE AGAINST A PREPONDERANCE OF EVIDENCE OR AGAINST LARGE NUMBERS OF LEGAL SCHOLARS ALL SAYING THERE IS NO CASE HERE. DROP THIS SICK WITCH HUNT,

Coverage of this is predictably making me want to throw up. Words spoken or written to things known ratio approaching some critical limit.

Most refreshing thing is the TV in this hotel lobby is tuned to an episode of Star Trek TNG rather than a news channel.
