Happy Easter, Passover, Ramadan. All the monotheism.
You just really don't want someone to celebrate all of them.
We celebrated Hanamatsuri yesterday just to throw a wrench in things. It's not monotheism but it's a lifestyle.
It's not even the right day, is it?
I guess it is the right day if you're Japanese or affiliated.
I had a mid-Passover Seder at my sister's house last night. Earlier in the day for the first time ever I missed my flight. But it all worked out.
Perp, I remember you but don't know why.
Glad it worked out, Did the airline take pity on you?
Job interview tomorrow. In the way of tech interviews, I'll be sitting on Zoom for six solid hours. Ugh.
7.2: I guess so. I ran up to the counter at the gate and asked, "Am I too late?" and the woman behind the counter said "Yes". And I asked pathetically, "What do I do now?" And she said, "Do you want to get on a flight that leaves at 11:30 am?" And I said yes, and in a couple of minutes she gave me a boarding pass, and I was anticipating her telling me that it would be another $100 or maybe more, but that didn't happen.
8: It's a matter of name vs. occupation.
9: Ugh is really right. Good luck.
10: For most major airlines as long as there's same-day space available you're fine. Where you run into trouble is if it's the last flight or they're sold out for the full day, because then they don't have to rebook you the next day and so it can get very expensive. Usually there's some timeframe (arrive within 2 hours after for AA and Southwest, arrive or call within 30 minutes after for United), but Delta is weird and won't tell you their exact policy. https://thepointsguy.com/guide/missing-a-flight/
"Somehow Delta is shittier" doesn't seem very out of character.
That said, Southwest just automatically re-routed me from Omaha to Pittsburgh through Atlanta and Nashville and lists a flight to Providence that I'm supposed to take at the same time.
There is a special Providence in the flight of a Moby.
I got the job! Officially starting May 1 so the pay periods sync up.
Keeping your current one, or just one because you have to switch? Congratulations either way.
Thanks! I will be hiring someone to take over my current job, but will have to effectively do both until then. Just the one salary, though.
Congratulations! Too bad the person with your current job is going to have to be let go now.
Congratulations! What does the new job entail, beyond being your own boss for a while?
Thanks! It's basically supervising the team, the lowest rung of middle management. It's a good role for me for a variety of reasons.
Congrats!
