Fyre Festival 2 'Does Not Exist,' Says Island Where It's Supposed To Take Place

Concert tickets are ridiculous anyway. FM radio is just giving it away for free.

You see it as a disaster, but from a more savvy perspective it was a huge success.

"Since 2016 Fyre has been the most talked about music festival in the world."

McFarland has created an incredibly famous brand. How could he not try to cash in?

McFarland got early release from prison, and I think that's fine, but there should have been a provision, that if he was found to be attempting to organize another music festival he could be rearrested.

Human beings are so funny. You can have an horrifying and awful disaster back in 2017, and widespread agreement that it was a disaster, and then eight four years later, people sign right back up to do it all over again.

Sentenced to six, released after three and a bit - that's surely the normal sort of time, assuming good behaviour?

I do wonder how much of this is true. Obviously the festival is fake, but has anyone even bought a ticket? Or is McFarland simply trying to gain attention for whatever reason?

The concept of having a big festival on a small island is such a dumb idea. Islands are difficult to access and have limited resources!

I can't tell if you're making my joke explicit, or if you're referring to some catastrophe of 2021. Either way: BANNED!

8: that's probably right -- it wasn't anything unusual. My suggested provision would be unusual, but I still think it would have been a good idea.

I like the New York State law where bad enough behavior (by judicial ruling) can get you banned from being a corporate officer anywhere. We should make some kind of national standard.

13: I think they should have let him out as part of a sort of white-collar-crime Dirty Dozen operation. He gets immunity, but he's only allowed to market Fyre Festival 2 tickets to Russian oligarchs.

The website is bad and weird in exactly the ways I expected it to be. (www.fyre.mx)

For only $1,100,000 you can get a "Prometheus" pass. "The origin of the prometheus pass is shrouded in secrecy." It is "not for the faint of heart, nor is it for the casual attendee."

They're still taking applications for artists and "experience leaders" as far as I can tell. For something less than three months away. Seems like he learned his lesson!

19: Here's the most important part --

Can I get a refund for my FYRE purchase?
All sales are final. Please refer to our Terms & Conditions for more details.

It seems there should be an option to get the Prometheus pass for free, if you agree to donate your liver.

Last I had looked, he seemed to have stabilized, so I wasn't actively worrying. I actually went to his site to see if he was saying anything about the latest, shockingly bad employment numbers.

It is 1994. The Democratic president is turning around the recession he inherited from his Republican predecessor with more social spending & taxation, but the Republicans are poised to provoke a backlash & retake a legislative majority.

It is 2010. The Democratic president is turning around the recession he inherited from his Republican predecessor with more social spending & taxation, but the Republicans are poised to provoke a backlash & retake a legislative majority.
