And yes, I think polemic is a good word, except that I think people think that a polemic is the same thing as a rant. Or a piece of sound equipment at a porn set.

Why is it July 30? The law is no advertising mentioning specific candidates 60 days before a general election (30 before a primary), but 60 days before Nov. 2 is Sept 3., not July 30.
According to the article, this is because the Republican convention is considered a "primary election." That is the biggest farce I have ever heard- by that rationale, Moore should be cut off July 30 to Sept 4 (end of Republican convention), then be allowed to advertise from Sept 5 to Nov. 22 (60 days before the electoral college votes.) That would be fine with me.
