Has anyone seen Wolcott on TV or heard him on the radio? The man absolutely kicks ass in print. If he could reliably pull that off in person I'd love to see him more widely distributed than just Vanity

I have a feeling that he probably doesn't come across as well off the written page, but no evidence to base that on.
A google image search for "james wolcott" returns this as the first result, which makes me think he'd be a hit. This though, might actually be him, so there's the Jack Germond-ish angle, which might work, or he could be a nervous sweating guy, which won't.
