Going back to the early post on losing interest in fiction, I went through a similar period myself. But it ended when I started mixing it up with fun books. Just because you can't slog through everything by Joyce anymore doesn't mean you wouldn't enjoy a good read. It's not nearly as elevating as a lot of my bookshelf, but I'm reading a lot more now that I'm plowing through a lot of the good science fiction from the last 15 years.
It's back to junior high, baby. And I'm loving it.
That's a good point, cw. I think I do have a lot of baggage about what I "should" be reading; or, more to the point, about what I "shouldn't" be reading.
What's the etiqutte of this, can I thank you for mentioning my story? I'm glad you liked it; sorry about attending Iowa.
All is forgiven! Thanks for writing it, and for dropping in.
